Rude SS scheduler
I got a call today, asking if I could do a signing tomorrow, Saturday. I said that I couldn't because hubby is working & I have no sitter. He actually said to me,
"Why don't you find a sitter so you can go out and make some money?"
I said NO and then he asked if I knew any other notaries in the area. Again I said no. Then he says, "Well, if you want to make some money, call me."
Needless to say, I did NOT call him!!!! I think his last job must have been as a pimp!

I had one call from a SS that I do one everyother month, but she is rude. Scheduler: Can you do a signing in the city of xxx tonight edocs Me: Yes how much are you paying? Scheduler: 85.00 Me: I can do it for 100.00 Scheduler: No! there are many that will take this one for 85.00 dollars. Me: Thank you. Good bye.
Do we have to take what ever they want to pay us?
I have a SS that nobody cant get more than their base fee and everytime they call me I ask for 20.00 more and they never say no.
People dont quit your full time job. This is going to get worst.
Walmart are you taking applications for merchandise stocker?

I wanted to tell him that I wasn't some newby who only has 2 months exp. but I figured why waste my time and breath. I just won't take any closings from them. It is so easy to just say NO to pimp daddy SS.

No excuse for him to be rude, but more info than he needs
If you cant take a job due to your unavailabiltiy, just tell caller that you are sorry, but due to "prior commitments", or some such. you are not available, but please keep you in mind for next time. You are not lying, but no need to provide details. Keeps the door open and sounds much more professional. If you contact a business for service (that is what we are), you do not want to hear, "My kid has chicken pox" I have to take my dog to the vet" "I have a doctor apppointmet" etc. You would not call that business the next time you need service.

Bob is correct. It is unprofessional to give out personal info. If you cannot do a signing for whatever reason, tell the scheduler that you are unavailable or have prior commitments. There is no need to get into details.

Yesterday I get a call while I am 3 counties over 100 miles away picking up my grandson for the weekend. It was 5pm and they wanted me to do a signing in my town as soon as possible last night. I just stated I was 3 counties over and I was booked. I never get into details with them. I was booked, I picked my grandson up after school and we were meeting my husband for dinner and are taking him to the Monstor Truck Jam this Saturday. We had not seen him since Christmas and this is some we have done every year since he was 5. The signing agencies just do not need to know what you have booked, just that you are unavailable
