Setting fee by county

I am in the process of signing up with a company that requested an all-inclusive fee (including e-docs) by the counties I cover. I don't typically set my fees that way. I have a base fee, e-doc fee and also add on mileage if it's more than 20 miles one way. Had anyone set up all-inclusive fee? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

I hear ya', Leslie. Help yourself (& me, too) by hitting a high-average; include the edocs & give 'em a heads up that one size does not always fit all. Tho' the mileage might be the same, sometimes traffic (or, in my case, hills, curves & 40mph speed limits) is a problem 'this way', but not 'that way'... and time is money.

This company e-mailed me and said they have closings in my area and want to get me set up in their database. I was debating just setting my fee at the highest range to cover those far or traffic problem areas, but was afraid that might keep them from calling me altogether.

Why should we take advantage ......

There is no regulation upon AQUIRING thier service. Take signings .. and network with other Notaries. Sooner or later these singing companies that want to play ALMIGHTY will get the hint ........ " we dont mind doing business with you but we are a company too..." its pretty sad when they get $150.00 to $250 per signing ..... and the AGENT.... maybe 30% .... and let the signing go wrong ... do they take any of the blame ?
If the all- inclusive fee fits with in you scope fine ... if not .... tell them you have a signing booked with me ... let me know if they call ill be glad to tell them your busy.

I charge the same fee for all the counties I cover so that if need be, the title company can put it on the hud. It makes it easier for the title company so they don't have to try to figure out what I charge. Yes its true that you will sometimes travel farther then you would like for the money but sometimes the closing is only three miles away and you still get the same fee!!!!
