Still burning.... I was too polite
Got a call yesterday from a SS and a guy with an attitude that wouldn't quit. After a lecture about the proper way to introduce yourself as the "loan closer" and never "notary" and several questions about my experience and comfort level, I must have passed his inspection. After not accepting his $75 offer (Countrywide), he said "Come on, honey, work with me here. We're only a signing service." I wouldn't budge, so he went on to look for someone else. Didn't catch his company's name (and no caller id on home line) but I'm pretty sure it was two initials (___ & ___) with no other words. Wished I would have told him I wasn't his honey, and HE was the one lacking professionalism.

Some of these poor people that have to call notary after notary are probably tired of it all too. They have to go by what their owner's dictate, and they probably know they're going to get shot down again and again. I guess I'm just thinking of how the other guy feels.
Don't get me wrong, his behavior was poor, I'm just trying to see his side of it. I'm sure he doesn't set the rates. He's just doing his job. But no one needs to call us honey or sweetie or any other supposed term of endearment. Consider his ill manners part of his upbringing and realize that he's probably making $8 an hour.
