WI notaries
Was wondering if you would like to join in a discussion and perhaps unite on concerns of notary law weakness's in WI since we have the ear of at least one Senator? I intend to keep after Sen Kapanke about the ID issues and also LisaWI's suggestion that there be training.
We do need more detailed information in the brochure at the least. Personally I found it awfully easy to become a notary in WI. I intend to go to his "Town Meetings" and be physical presence about this and try to keep the issues up front with him and it would be helpful if there were more notaries showing interested in it.

Perhaps if you could get a few concerned notaries together and can have a meeting in close proximity to the good Senator's offices he more than likely would take the time to discuss your concerns at your group's get together. Remember you are performing a vital State function, you are constituents and as a group you provide certain tangible benefits to the good Senator. Never forget that organizations usually are just the tip of the iceberg politically and represent the concerns of a greater group of constituents, the Senator's bread and butter.
As an alternative you could have your meeting and select several notaries to actually set an appointment go to the Senator's offices to present you concerns as an organization. It would largely depend on how many you can get together. An office visit wold be more beneficial if the group is extremely small. If you can get a larger group together it would be beneficial to have the Senator come to you. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input. I am working on getting notaries interested at this point. They are very hard to find in this area. Go to find a notary and keyword the zip 54601 which is La Crosse WI. Take a look at the distances they are from this city which is the largest in W WI.
Greass roots beginnings are the best. Look at what it did for smoking!

Zana, Maybe we could post on other sites such as GMN and Notary Depot to get more interested.
