What would you do?

I had a signing for Friday (2/17) evening that was cancelled because, according to the L/O, the borrower had already contracted their own notary. No problem. A couple hours ago I receive E-Docs for the same signing tomorrow. No phone call. Of course there's no mention of an adjusted fee. The initial agreed-upon fee is $150.00 do you guys think I should charge more because of the holiday? Thanks!

Sounds like a classic case of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Don't print until you confirm with Title/SS/Borrower. As for the adjusted fee, do you usually charge more to work on holidays? Sundays and holidays are usually the norm for SA's, as this is when the Bo is home. I don't charge more.

That depends on what holidays you consider the norm. Most people are home on Saturday afternoons, and in some states it's illegal to close loans on Sunday. I personally only charge extra for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

I would call the borrower and confirm with them that they have someone else coming out. It's possible that the person sending docs didn't have the correct e-mail addy. Or the borrower may have found out that if they went with thier own notary they would have to pay the fee directly to the notary and decided to stay with the original plan with new date and time. There's definately a break down in communication. You don't want to print the docs and just arive. Call and confirm with borrower.

I wouldn't charge more due to the holiday. It's not like it's Christmas or Thanksgiving.

I would not charge more if I were you, but call the borrower first and make sure that the other notary is not coming before printing the docs.

Don't just check with the borrower, call the service that contacted you in the first place. It already sounds like leftie doesn't know what rightie is doing, so it's in your interest to make sure everything is on track so you don't get stiffed.

Oh my god. Well, I found out what happened.

The docs that I received Sunday at 3pm were originally sent Friday evening at 5pm. That's almost a 48-hour delay. I've never had that problem with verizon before. I'm going to follow up with them to see what happened. Thank you all for your opinions and have a great day.
