Would you do this?
I had a signing Yesterday, and I was checking the package this morning. I noticed that I missed the husband signature on the 4506, is it ethical or unprofessional to have my wife went to their house again have him sign, since I have a terrible cold. I was thinking that it could be a problem with confident info in the package, but I would like your opinion on this.
Thank you.
This could be a good reason to post anon, dont you think?
Thanks

Even though I am currently sick, I would go out there myself. If I was terribly sick (hospital emergency) I would call the borrower and explain the situation. If my husband did go I would ask him to dress in professional attire, he would then seem more of a business partner than just someone doing me a favor.

From my point of view, this would be a confidentially issue. Having anyone other than you handling any of the docs would require the BO's permission.
I would call them and ask what they would like to do. Be sure you apologize for the inconvieance(sp)
And yes, I understand the Anon

The Form 4506 is not a notarized document. To have one of your "associates" bring over the 4506 to be signed is, i/m/o, not the least bit unprofessional, assuming your "associate" performs at least as "professionally" (read: dress and manner) as you did.
Is it unprofessional to have a spouse or adult child bring the sealed doc package to the UPS/FedEx drop location? They could open it up and look at the 1003, etc.
I suspect the borrower would be very happy NOT to be exposed to your miserable cold, if it could be avoided, which would be the considerate and professional act.
But that's silly me.
