"Certified" by the NNA

I met a woman who became "certified" through the NNA, and needless to say, I am appalled at what they DIDN"T teach her! Basically, she was taught the notarial laws for ALL states. She was not taught what is in a loan doc package, wht docs the non-borrowing spouse signs, or even how to present the docs! And yet, the NNA is chrurning out "Certified" closing agents. Certified for WHAT? This poor woman had to go back 3 times to het first closing to "Fix" the docs. Her first mistake was listening to the l.o. as to where/what she signed.
My 2nd gripe with the NNA "Certified" classes, is for advertising, they basically told her to advertise on their website and the calls will start pouring in. HA!
I sat with her for over 2 hours to go over docs with her, and try to help her in any way I can. Then I wrote as scathing letter to the NNA and told them that basically they have blackened their own eye with their "Certified" classes. It is because of them we have title companies complaining! If they keep it up, all states will become like Georgia.. attorney only closings.
And oh yea, I told to please stop advertising! I think maybe I'll start up a mentoring class for the newly "Certified" NNA students.
