here's an idea...
I just wrote to Harry on feedback, if anyone else agrees post a response.
Also, If I've e-mailed out the training docs, no need to send a thank you response, I'm so confused, trying to get thru my e-mail acct! I know you appreciate it.
My suggestion....Please do not respond to an anon. They live for it. I know it's hard and awfully tempting because we are dealing with such immaturity and stupidity, but please don't even give it the time of day, eventually they will go away because they feed on our responses. You can easily see how petty and silly their posts are, it reminds me of the 13 yr olds on the playground, ALWAYS jealous of something and so inscure they have to try and fight about it. Let's all leave the children alone, don't be drawn into it anymore, we are more intelligent and bigger than that garbage tossing.
OK, back to cleaning up e-mail

This isn't meant as an attack, but I'm confused. In the marketing post below this, you are asking about marketing/visiting TCs, leaving biz cards, etc. and now you are asking Charm about training docs.
My confusion arises as to your loan signing experience and the fact that if you are not prepared and knowledgeable about loan docs, you have no business approaching TCs at this point.

Re: here's an idea... LaHoma
For those that are new, TC's are much more "strict" with who they want to work with. They definitly prefer experienced notaries. There are some out there, however, that may be open to training you for when they have a lot going on. (This doesn't seem to apply to TX). Don't be discouraged if they are not interested in you right away. Be sure you are honest with them about your abilities. At least by letting them know you exist, maybe a year or two down the road they will recognize your name again and will give you a good amount of business. Good luck!!!

Re: here's an idea... LaHoma
Based on her posts so far on this board, I get the impression that she's pretty new to the business.
Gotta agree with Carolyn on this one LaHoma, stay away from the title companies until you know this business backwards and forward. And at this point it looks like you have quite a ways to go to get to that point.

Re: here's an idea... LaHoma
i thank you Carolyn and Calinotary for your input....all i asked was for feed back out marketing in person....i saw a post about some training docs...i was curious of what they looked like....like to see everything i can. I'm not saying i'm know everything (b/c really in this business u can't. there's always something new to learn) but i can say, i have good references and my name is know in my area and i have lots of skills and back ground in this field and i've been doing this for 7 yrs. I actually just left a mortgage company where i was drawing the docs and i hired and assigned notaries to the loan signings and paid them and invoiced title.. i was responsible in making sure everything got notarized correctly and to track docs. I really appreciate the fact that you guys worrie about the newbies...I'm just trying the other side and i'm going out there to actually do signings instead of hiring other do to it

Re: LaHoma ...
as expected, you've written on the attack. In my first sentence I told you I was not writing to attack.
I still don't understand your questions. You say you have worked in this field for seven years on the other side of signigns. I would think that with that type of experience, you would already know how to market your services, and whether or not you should approach TCs and hand them a biz card or other marketing info.

Ummm ... Carolyn ... "As expected ... ?? [Re: LaHoma ...
I read LaHoma's explanation three times and don't see anything "on the attack" about it. A good marketer is always looking for new ideas, don't you agree?

i don't mind talking to you and answering your questions...if you are trying to help and be positive....b/c really i don't have to answer you or prove myself to you. But i've been in the business for 7 yrs. I'm a godly person and a kind person and like to be positive and helpful....i don't try to put people down or be rude and act like i know everything.... have a good day Calinotary... Are u clear now?

LaHoma
Charm was nice enough to send out her training resource about Reverse Mortgages, which many of us haven't done (including me). I think I still have it available to me, if you'd like a copy. (It was put out by Wells Fargo I believe). Email me but do so before 5 or on Monday...it's on my work email system.
