been unusually slow here, turned down three for various reasons, but the calls have been far and few between! Hope it picks up next week.

Charm I'm suprised your not busy. January was slow but it seems like things have picked up for me this month. I thought yesterday was the last day of month or at least it felt like it! I'm thinking or I've heard this is the busy time making up for a late start on January. The lenders are saying busy now not so busy at the end of the month. I hope your business picks up....I'm sure it will!

I think I'm losing out to the 50 dollar notaries.

If you are then you will probably get the resign because of all the mistakes the $50 notary made Smiley

Actually, I've been pleasantly surprised. I expected to have the beginning of Feb. be really dead and it has been fairly decent. Hope that means it will continue to get better.

Re: how's biz in Feb?...srn

yes, I wonder about it because I'm getting calls to drive WAY out there with e-docs for $75.00 too and these companies are not budging! So apparently they are finding SA's that will. The funny thing is, there are not many if any even remotely close to some of these counties, one company wanted me to drive up to the border, thru Tennessee and back down into AL. (rural all the way, only way to get there) with e-docs for $100. 5 hour r.t.

It is crazy. I have had a few weird ones. Like the one I turned doen earlier. Can you please do a signing today? Sure not a problem. What time? 5:00 they say ok thats fine. It is edocs. Ok not a problem I say. What is your fee. Well that area isn't to far but My fee is $125.00. Can you lower that any? No not if I wan tto stay in business. Well we usually pay 40.00. I laughed and said no way can I do it for that. They said thanks as I was still laughing and hung up.

I know what you are saying. It is frustrating to no end what they expect you to do for so little pay. Sorry but for me $40 wouldn't even fill my tank with the way gas prices are going.

Just keep your chin up and they will realise sooner or later they are losing money rather than padding hteir own pockets an they will come crawlign back to you. Then you can play queen charm and stick it to em. LOL

The calls are comining in, its just they are from signing services unaware of me being in an attorney state. So, Ive had to turn many down. I dont know if they just move on and call another notary, or if they actually call an attorney. I know for sure, they havent called back.

no consolation needed, just getted passed up for right now I think. Sooner or later they'll come back after repeated mistakes. I think it's just a cycle.

Re: For Charm

I had to go to a closing and I just got back and I read your reply after my posting. Don't worry about losing out to the 50 people....they can do them all day loang but you get what you pay for. I have been busy and I haven't done one yeat for 50.00. I'd rather take time off then to work for nothing. It will pick up for you.

Re: Busy in SW FL n/m

Did 17 in November, was gettin ascared. Did 38 in December, but that is normal. 19 in 1/06, so was gettin ascared agin. 2/10 is the 8th business day of the month and I have done or by 2/10 will do 15. So February is just kickin and have turned down some good and some bad biz away, mostly good. With all the talk of last year I was seriously thinking of getting part-time employment (at nights, so not to loose the biz) to supplement this after 3 years, but if this keeps up I won't need to. What I am seeing is with the new required min on credit cards people are refing agin, and yes once agin to avoid the huge payments and interest. The silly language is just a Lil Abner thing, not that I even know where he is from.

Fairly busy here...

I've been pretty busy. December was my worst month EVER (and yes I'm saying ever like a high school Cheerleader....EV---ERRRRR)

But January was excellent, and I'm off to a good start in February. Can't complain a bit, well of course I can....I'd like to be busier....I can never get enough closings!!!!

Fairly busy.

Just got in from a screaming match. Borrower told L/O that he was going to sign just for spite and then use the RTC tomorrow. L/O said that was fine with him sign and send it, because he was going to reject his loan any way. All of this over $300. Go figure.

Same here in TN, it started out slow and yesterday I got 5 calls all for the same day and time.
All of them were about 45-60 miles away from each other. I had to turn them down.

Awesome! Thank Goodness, my phones ringing today. I was starting to feel like that lonely love struck teenager picking up the phone every ten minutes to hear the dial tone Smiley
