I'm signing a 91 yr old borrower this afternoon...paying off 1st mortgage, paying close to 10k to do it and has the pleasure of having an A.R.M. how nice

what's the highest age you've signed?

Re: btw:

Hmmmm, how long is the term of the loan? I wonder if maybe this may be the type of circumstance where one might consider a reverse mortgage. We may not be allowed to have an opinion at the table or with who hired us, but we certainly can have a personal opinion.

Last week did a refi for a couple that were 84 & 85 yrs. old. She seemed very sharp...he on the otherhand seemed a little confused (but knew what he was doing).

The oldest borrower I signed was a 94 year old doing a Reverse Mortgage. His son and daughter-in-law were there with their three kids in tow... giving him a hard time. The daughter-in-law was whining about how he was taking away the only legacy for the grandkids.

He turned to her and said... "I didn't see you standing next to me with your checkbook when it came time to get my prescriptions. If you want the GD house so much then just wait 'till I die and pay it off". Then he looked at his son and said, 'Get your harpy out of my house!'

It was great! He signed like a twenty year old... totally invigorated!

I would of had a hard time keeping a straight face on that one! I signed an 84 year old woman last month. Her middle aged son let me in and took me to his mom in the kitchen. When I asked for her ID she asked "John" to get it. "Look in my desk drawer". As he was looking, she reached in her housecoat pocket and with a wink and a smile, handed me her current state issued ID. She whispered something like "He doesn't have to know all my business." She kept him looking throughout the signing. "Check my old purses in the closet", "check the box under the bed". As I was leaving I heard her say "Forget it John, I found it." I can only hope I'm that wise at 84!

Re:Blueink...

That was a good one! That lady was a smart cookie. Reminds me of how my grandmother was!

I did a Reverse for a couple where the husband was 95 and the wife was about the same. They both had a lot of great stories. I know it's different than the refi but great pleasure to meet them both.
