Does anyone have problems printing PDF files while having AOL for their service??

Yes! I thought it was just me. My HP LJ 1320 took forever to "spool up", but last night while printing docs it began to do just that, but then quickly recognized the HUGE pdf file that I was printing and began working properly. Once, I had a TC re-scan the docs, and I downloaded them again and my printer worked OK. Not sure what the problem is, maybe this is one for the great PAW to answer...

There are lots of reasons printers will have problems printing PDF files, especially extremely large ones because they contain images of the documents (embedded TIF format) rather than text. Images take a lot of memory, in both the PC and printer, and time to render. Many others as well as I have found that using the PCL5e driver and selecting "Print as image", for those large image PDF files, works the best. Depending on how much memory is available for spooling and rendering, you may need to print piecemeal. That is, print only 20-25 pages at a time, and only print one copy at a time.

Okay I have a hp3015 all in one. I tried to find anywhere that it says to print as an image while docs were up. No can do. Does anyone know where to find this? I am sick and tired of recieveing docs that have been scanned as an image. I have to print 1 at a time for quickest speed. What a PITA! I really think I'm going to by a laser printer only and use it for these type of docs. Now to figure out what one will work best....I better start searching.

Beverly... When you select "Print" (Adobe Reader), at the bottom of the dialog box there should be an "Advanced" button. Click it. It should open an "Advanced Print Setup" dialog. In the lower left corner, there should be a check box for "Print as image". Select it.

Well PAW you have just earned your keep in my book!!! I tried it and it did work Woo Hoo!! I have been studying these boards for this tip for over 6 months. I would have asked about it but as someone on here has said before..."you don't know what you don't know". The coffee is sweeter, the skies are bluer etc. etc.
Thank you, you have made my day.

Last fall summer I had a couple SS and TC's tell me they would not send over AOL but could not tell me why. Just that they had problems getting them through. I switched servers when I moved but still have an AIM acct with them. I used that Monday night when my current server seemed to be backing up on receiving emails with file attachments.

I have trouble getting email from one TC on my AOL account. I had to set up a yahoo account just for them. Or their emails get lost in cyber-space.
