A first for me

End of month signing day and no appointments. And only one yesterday morning. I'm guessing I'll get a few calls this afternoon, but so far my phone has been quiet all morning.

And what is really strange is that this month hasn't been bad for me at all. Between Friday and next Tuesday I have 9 signings already lined up. Just none for today.

American Idol and nachos, if you must know.

It's actually been a blessing that this week has been so slow. Without giving gory details, let's just say between my eye problem and my cat's eye problem, which may or may not be the cause of mine, and has caused her to become blind, the vet bills, and my own ophthalmologist visit later this afternoon....well, let's just say I've had better weeks and been in better moods.

And I had picked last week to quit smoking, and was doing quite well at it. 10 guesses on how well that's been going THIS week.

Don't give up on your attempts to stop smoking! I heard from some expert recently that it takes most people several attempts to quit before they kick the habit - so each time you try again, you have a better chance of success. Good luck!!

I smoked for 26 years. When I quit I was up to 2 1/2 packs a day. Don't know why but 1 day last May I just decided to quit and haven't had 1 since. I chewed nicorette gum for 2 days but that was it, just went cold turkey. I can even remember the last smoke I had, 9:30 AM on May 2, 2005. LOL Good luck Cali in quitting, I found in my situation it was mostly mental.

The mental part definitely is the hardest part of quitting smoking. I was using the patch, but found that a week into it I was even forgetting to put the patch on right away, yet still not feeling any weird cravings.

I just didn't expect this week to be as mentally stressful as it's been. Not to mention boring. I wasn't really up to going out and being social, plus my eye looked pretty gross, so I've been mostly homebound for the past week. You can only watch so much tv or surf the net so much. And I hate to say it, but smoking did help calm my nerves a bit.

The good news is that the ophthalmologist said it is just a case of conjunctivitis (pinkeye) and doesn't seem to be related to my cat's problems. So hopefully that'll be cleared up in a few more days. So once that is back to normal I'll slap on the patch again and continue the non smoking.

I quit smoking about 5 or 6 years ago, since I had been a heavy smoker I quickly noticed
that I had more money, I got to spend the money on a trip to Mexico and then used it to
purchase some great jewelry which I still wear and love. In addition my health has improved,
and now I can only shudder about how I must have smelled like cigarete smoke when I walked into a borrowers house...ugh. By the way my dry cleaning bills are less too!
The point is keep working on quiting smoking!

Good Luck Cali....

Most people that have quit smoking had to quit numerous times. You can do it, even as hard as it is! You're gonna feel a whole lot better when you are able to quit PLUS you can taste your food again! Amazing how you don't get the real flavor of food when you smoke! We'll pull for ya! And when ya get REALLY stressed out and feel like you're gonna explode, write it all out in a b*tchey email to me and get it out of your system! LOL! GOOD LUCK!

My phone been ringing off the hook from companies asking for TIN so they can send out my 1099. I'll probably have time to watch dancing with the star after my 7pm appt.
