A goodie for 2006
This is my New Year gift to you all. I can’t for the life of me remember where I first was turned on to this, but it has become one of the watershed points in my life. Like, “Oh, yeah, that was before I started making omelets in a baggie,” or, “I must have saved 25 hours since I started making omelets in a baggie.” This is great for children, who can make their own with little help, or for guests, who can customize their omelets from an array of prepared ingredients.
OMELET IN A BAGGIE
Break up to three eggs in a quart-size freezer baggie. Add in whatever other ingredients you would like in your omelet – grated cheese, Tobasco, diced ham, onions, peppers, etc. Close bag, making sure to get all the air out. Knead baggie to mix up eggs and ingredients. Place in pot of boiling water for 12-15 minutes. Presto! A perfect omelet.
