You may want to view the thread on GMN at http://members.boardhost.com/gomobilenotary/msg/1135807467.html for more information.

If you read that closely it states: If the borrowers are applying for "joint" credit. With that statement in mind, I don't think they would sign it if they are not applying for "joint" credit. Any thoughts?

I agree that it is for joint accounts only. That is basically the thrust of the conversation in the GMN thread I referenced.
On Tuesday, when I talk with a couple of my brokers, I'm going to ask them what their take is and if they have been provided any direction by their mortgage companies.

Re: Alert on new 1003 form - thanks PaulFL...
**I agree that it is for joint accounts only.**
These little squirrelly things in our signing agent world can really be a PITA. I can just see me obsessing over this kind of thing in my sleep when I first got started.
I also will call a LO and find out what they think.

The top of the form, just above the signature states:
If this is an application for joint credit, Borrower and Co-Borrower each agree that we intend to apply for joint credit (sign below): _________________________________________ _________________________________________

I only have them sign if joint credit applies.
