I did a signing on October 20, 2005 that the signing fee was to be $90.00. I have never received payment from Michael LasCano. I have left numerous voice mails, emails and faxes and have never had a response from Michael LasCano. I spoke with Napa Land Title who used him for the signing and the woman I spoke to said I am not the only notary she's received a call from concerning nonpayment from Michael LasCano. She said another notary did $350 worth of signings and never received payment from Michael LasCano.

Hopefully he has a business license? You can file complaints in court against both personal and business. See who the business owner really is.

I did a signing for him November 30 and was paid $90 within 2 weeks. He even emailed me and told me that he put the check in the mail. I received it the next day, deposited it and it cleared. No problems and extremely smooth signing. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I think maybe the reason you got your payment so quickly could be because your in OR? The same state that Michael is located in? You could go to small claims very easily. Just a thought.

I completed a signing on November 16th and haven't been paid. I have called and left messeges with no response. Now when I call the mail box is full. I have sent an email, we will see if I get a response or not.

I did two signings in October for Michael Lascano, I've called (number is now out of order), emailed and faxed him to no avail. Called the Loan Officer, who says they've heard from about 15 notaries in the same boat. Chalk it up to experience...
