I haven't forgotten about you (in re: the Recorders handbook). Seems it's published by an Association of County Recorders throughout the state and they guard this thing jealously.

I'm still working on it (and working on getting my version updated). We have people on the inside trying to sneak out with a copy ....sssshhh, don't tell anyone...loose lips sink ships and all.

Re:Title Gal,

Too bad it's such a secret I was looking forward to finding out how I could acquire one. :-)

Re: Re:Title Gal,

Jenny,

It seems to me this should be made available to the public, as it is a public document, and it relates to the proper recording standards for documents.

Let us see if TitleGal can obtain a current copy.

Re: Re:Title Gal -

Well Brad, what "seems" and what "is" can be two different things. It is NOT a public document, at all.

It is compiled from the efforts of those in the County Recording Industry and is available for the use of recording clerks and those in management positions of CA County Recorders offices, published for a specific trade association, and referencing a lot of Law from the Civil Code to the Government Code - all to make for consistency in recording requirements in California.

Just because it is a manual that describes recording req's in documents that ARE public record, doesn't make it public knowledge or availability. It is for the benefit and those in that industry.

***Let us see if TitleGal can obtain a current copy.***

It's not a challenge for me to provide it here to the forum. But I promise I will post the results in what I find. Obviously any of you can research it yourself as well. That's the nice part =)

My statement was in response to your post above. If I was offensive in anyway, I do apologize. I appreciate your efforts. I have attempted to research it without much success
thus far. Thank you for your clarification on the fact that it is not a public document.

Oh my, no offense at all. Just wanted to

set things straight so there were no misunderstandings. As I said, I'll post back when I know something firm.

The above quote was meant in all sincerity - I'm working on it ..... and it's not easy!
