Charging for Oaths & Affirmations in California?

I was browsing some notary websites and came upon a site where a notary was charging $10 per signature for Jurats & Acknowledgments, then there was a $10 charge per Oath or Affirmation. Just wondering in what situation would a notary give an Oath or Affirmation without using a Jurat? All I'm doing is loan docs and haven't come across anything like this.

If my memory serves me correctly which I think it does. We as Notaries can administer an oath or affirmation for the purposes of taking a deposition. However depositions are usually taken by a trained (I don't know what type of certification) court recorder so it's something that would be done in the rarest of occasions. In my opinion most lawyers wouldn't schedule a deposition without a court recorder and wouldn't go forward without one in case of illness so I didn't feel inclined to look into it any further. Anyhow I think that's the answer but my materials are packed away right now.
