Closing Agent.......???
Hi I am writing from Colorado Springs, Co and I was wondering, as a Notary Public, do I sign documents that only say "Notary Public" or can I also sign documents that say "Closing Agent and Signing Agent"? Is it the same thing? What are the rules to what I can and cannot sign?

Gee! 15 messages, and 9 of them by the same person. This is really getting dumb. Ya'all live somewhere, and if you are more than about 12 years old, you probably have enough moxie to pick a name! Of course, if you're trashing someone, you might not want to use your own, but you *could* pick something--maybe Curley, or Moe.

Since you do not know the answer to this why are you doing a signing? Perhaps you should get some training before doing something you obviously do not have the knowledge to do!

Sorry that you are so completely lacking the basics necessary to do a signing. Perhaps you should get some Training before you screwup someone's loan. It is obvious that you have NO clue....must be another NNA prodigy that bought into their easy money offer.

I am honestly trying to help you but really in docs you are notarizing docs there's not much signing going on on your part, at least from what I've experienced. That's what I know from CA.

Closing Agent vs Signing Agent.
The person to ask is the Lender, Some Lender want you to sign the documents or some what the Escrow Closer to sign there. It depends on each Lender. But normally when it says Closing Agent that means the Escrow closer.

Good Morning, My experience has been that I do not sign anything that says "Closing Agent" since that's usually the Escrow agent. The only thing i've come across that had "signing agent" was the patriot act form, and since 1-I was the signing agent and 2- I was the one verifying the ID's that one should be signed by me as the "signing agent". Now and then I come across one that says : "Signing Agent/Notary" and of course I would sign that one. Hope this has helped you.
