Crazy signing in NJ

Hello everyone, this was the craziest signing I ever had! It all started 2 weeks ago; Agreed to a siging in the next town from a cheaper signing co. that agreed to my fee. I called the borrower gave him the low-down on what I needed from him and his wife. Get to the closing and ask where is you wife? Oh, she is in MOROCCO (sp?) Well we really need her to be here, I say. Tell him to call his loan officer while I call the signing agency that hired me. Trip fee, full boat, which I thought was very nice and a reschedule in the near future. Get several different calls back the following week. "We're going to do a split signing". Second, third or fouth call, nope we're doing a power of atty. Last call, wife is comming home be there on tues., etc. Show up at closing. Wife has everything in her maiden name, out of state lic. no correction sticker and so on. Leave the signing, paid another trip fee, and tell the borrowers wife needs to straighten this out today! And of course, no copies of anything available for me as I had asked for at every appt. I showed up on. Last minute running around gathering i.d's and trying to scan or print on a half broken maching. I tell them that I will make myself available for them in the pm. I let the signing agency know again what is going on. Hours later I make a call to the agency and they tell me bank okay with with signing in her maiden name. Cross out and put her maiden name in. Okay, thankfully she is a non-b, not too many corrections. Show up at the closing low and behold everything is ready! While closing the borrowers get a call from the loan officer, he has been fired and is being led out of the bldg as they speak! I say how terrible, and wife says, "you think that's bad?! I just found out this morning by reading our explaination of bennefits on our health insurance that my husband has a 15 month old daughter with another woman! What the hell do you say to that! What a signing! Between all the calls hand holding and personal info I received the least they could do is make me the Godmother! Gotta laugh at it!

I did a crazy signing in NJ a few weeks ago. Not nearly as insane as your example, but still nuts in my mind.

One-hour and thirty minute drive to Hunterdon county... finally find the mailbox with the right address on it, pull down the long driveway and lo and behold, there is no house... anywhere. There is a huge old barn, a guy (the borrower) comes out and invites me inside the "house".

There are dogs, cats, chickens, horses, and pigs all over the place. There is a bed, stove, refridgerator, sink, and toilet in the back corner. We sat on the "living room furniture" to complete the signing. The furtiture consisted of bales of hay.

I didn't think barns existed in New Jersey anymore.... I guess I've been living in the city too long.

That's my neck of the woods. That's pretty funny! I went to the chain saw masacres house for a closing in Warren county. I stood outside and away from the front porch which would have crashed down on me had I openned the door and knock at the same time. Had my husband on the phone THE ENTIRE CLOSING! Turned out to be a really nice guy. A computer wiz with no conception or knowledge of housekeeping!

Forgot to mention everytime a reschedule came up, I would get three to 4 pkgs UPS. AND when I called the agency, they told me to figure it out! Yeah right! I asked them to call me back when THEY figured it out or find another notary. And of course all this done with the upmost of professionallism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
