Date on 1st page of DOT

Does the date on the 1st page of the DOT (it says "Security Instrument means the document, which is dated January XX, 2006, together with all Riders ....") have to be the current date? It sounds like a stupid question I know but I'm hesitant to change the date on the 1st page when it's not a signature date. And it's Countrywide who is so picky, I don't want to screw up the DOT. Thanks for your time.

No don't change the date. Just sign with the date it is actually signed. Never change dates in the docs.

Thank you-- that's what I thought but needed confirmation. Have a great weekend.

No. My gosh, don't change a thing on the dated date of the document. CWide may be picky, but it's not your call...the contents of a document are never, ever the concern of the notary.
