Fee difference between refi's and Purchases

I am intrested to know the difference between what you would charge for a refi and a purchase. Say if I charged $100. for a refi how much more would I charge for a purchase. Maybe there isn't a difference?
I haven't done a purchase yet but I think you would have Sellers (not always) and BR's and that you would have more doc's to go over. I'm I starting to see the trees for the forest?
Thanks for any help.

Sellers docs are minimal. Usually 2-3 affs, the HUD(s) and a Deed. I charge more for a purchase, usually $25 for delivered and $50 for emailed docs.

You're welcome. Don't forget to print an extra HUD so you can give the sellers an original signed HUD and be sure to print a copy pkg. for the sellers - just the docs the sellers sign.

I am a recruiter at First American Signature Services. We pay $50 base for refi/heloc and $90 for purchase signings.

Purchase is $90 as you have borrower and seller to close. Borrower generally has 3-6 pages to sign and the borrower has a full package. Add E-docs into it and that's $75-$115, we add $$ for travel beyond 15mi too.

Wow! I might do a purchase for you if it took place in my living room.

FASS is out of touch. I get $200 for a purchase and sometimes more depending on circumstances, travel, etc.

Now now, you guys are forgetting about all of the free stuff they're throwing in with their $50 payments - the multiple phone calls for each signing, the monthly emails that teach you how to do basic notary work, the complete lack of respect for us as professionals.... Add it all up and you're REALLY getting your money's worth with FASS.

How can two branches of the same company be so

radically different. First American Title is my favorite title company. As a Realtor I put as many of my transactions through First American. As I work across the entire state I use First American Title in many cities and have excellent relations with their title officers. FASS on the other hand is one of the worst of a lousy lot. They don't pay, they make unreasonable demands and then the take a high and mighty attitude about being part of First American Title. I have had many requests from FASS and have turned them all down. Finally they had one their recruiters attempt to recruit me and they tried hard: they tried every thing except pay. It isn't worth working for them and they just don't seem to get it!

Re: How can two branches of the same company be so

I have recently been getting recruiting calls from FASS, funny thing is I worked for them when
they first started and the fee was $60.00 per signing, then they rudely dropped me from their
data base for "not responding to pages", but I have never had a pager.

most people do not realize that doing purchase signing, normally takes more time than a regular refi.
99% of the time the buyers arrive late because they were stuck at the bank trying to get a certified check and they have a ton of questions at the table. There is no RTC, therefore they want to read, read and read. Expect to spend at least 1.5 -2 hrs doing a purchase if everyone shows up on time and with everything they need. The first purchase I did a couple of years ago, took me 3 hours to complete. Buyers arrived an hour late and then insisted to read everything and called the title company at leat 5 times.
For those reasons, I charge more on purchases. $200 sounds reasonable for borrower/seller transactions. $175 if only the buyers.
Good luck
