Getting work
I have yet to get any jobs signing loan documents. I have done several other notaries for other things. I have my certificate to be a loan signing agent but as I have no experience it has been hard to get any jobs. I have call other notaries for mentoring and no response. Also, I have signed with several signing agencies (3) and have never received any jobs. I guess I will have to do cold calling now. HELP!!

Where are you and when did you start signing up with the companies?

I signed up with 300 and it took 4 months to get my first signing. Most people wont mentor as they see your as their competition. My zip code has 500 notaries and I have had to pursue other work due to the competition in my area.

Every chance I get, I sign up with more companies. Hang in there. I've been in there since Oct. In Oct and Nov I had 3 closings each and this month I had 4. I am moving up! HAHA.

3 Signing agencies is a far cry from "several".... sign up for as many as you can. Contact local title companies in your area (just use yahoo directory), and call all of them, and ask if they use contract closers....some will, some won't... then get them your information (area's services, fee schedule, availability, etc)
These are some good steps to getting started.... but definitely sign up for more signing agencies (300 rather than 3)... better to be too busy, than not busy at all.

Without any signing experience, I wouldn't suggest the original poster contact TCs.

I agree with Carolyn, you should get some experience before working with a TC. These companies are picky and unforgiving. They won't work well with the inexperienced. Sign up with every SS you can and market, market, market.

As a past Manager of a Title Agency I would not hire someone who had no experience. I would say sign up for all of the agencies you can. Contact me and I will help you with some of the places I have signed up with.
