Help - POA question

I have been asked to notarize a letter which relinquishes the signer's executorship over to his sister. Can I legally notarize this letter by attaching an acknowledgement to the letter? I realize that in the State of CA notaries can certify copies of POA's, but am not sure about the above. Need help asap. Thanks.

Probably would not be a big deal. It is not like you are working as a lawyer. You are just notarizing the signature.

Re: Help - POA question - Joan

You can't choose what certificate to attach - don't offer up an acknowledgment, anytime or anyplace. If you do, you're guilty of UPL (unauthorized practice of law).

Your reference to ***I realize that in the State of CA notaries can certify copies of POA's*** is not at all applicable to your situation about a letter.
