Help! TomTom700
Just purchased a TomTom700 and everything is in German. My husband and I are going nuts, cannot find anything on changing the language. Have even gone into the website. I know this can't be that difficult, but I'm just about ready to throw this thing up against the wall. thanks.

Thanks. Yes, I know, my husband is searching in the manual, but I know there are TomTom700 users here and was hoping someone could give me a quick answer. You'd think it would be in the manual, and there just isn't anything. Ahhhhhhhhh!

You should be able to connect to your PC with the supplied USB cable. Then insert the TomTom CD. If it does not autostart go to the setup file and double click. One of the 1st screens allows you to select the language.
You might also be able to get more info. from here. http://www.tomtom.com/lib/doc/go5/refman/Main_menu_usa.html

Re: Have done this..
Jan - I feel your pain. Once I accidentally reset my cell phone to use French and it was not easy to find the menu to fix it.
Never have seen a TomTom but my totally uneducated guess is that's what you need to be directed to. If I had a TomTom I'd call you and try to walk you through it. I guess there are not many TomTom users on this board reading today/tonight.

We got it!
Finally, just started pushing buttons; we did find a one-liner in the manual about language change so we just looked for the German icon with flags. That did it. Argh! I thought I was going to have a coronary on this one.
