How to figure in your expenses
I thought there was a posting on how to figure your expenses and wear and tear on your vehicle and to adjust your pricing accordingly. I can't find it or anything when I put "fees, how to charge" etc. in the search area. I have a gal who called me who is just starting out and wanted that info. Can someone tell me where to find it?

Go back to search and try the following message numbers:
80638, 80818, 80639, 80620 & 80500 and read all replies in the thread.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, but that's not what I meant
There was a posting on how to charge companies and figuring in your expenses to come up with an amount. Does anyone know where this post is?

I don't know where that post is, and my answer may not be what you are looking for. If you want to know how much your vehicle costs, just track it. Write down how many miles you have on your car, and then log everything you spend money on for this year. At the end of the year divide the total dollar amount spent on your car by miles driven and you will have what it costs to drive a mile. Of course you will have to also divide what you paid for your car by how many miles you expect it will last. Those two numbers together will give you the real cost. Now the problem is you want to (or this gal wants to) know what it costs today, not at the end of the year so you are just going to have to guess. I would estimate a higher cost because you would hate to under charge. You could always use what the IRS assumes which is between $.40 and $.485. I think it is lower than that, but who am I to argue with the IRS.
