Yes it is. Given that most loans that would be closing now were probably initiated prior to or during the holidays, I am not surprized.
I am using the time to orgainze my self..both the business and for taxes.
I am also working on my marketing and research

I'm slow here in North Carolina also. I expected it to be slower this month because it is January and last January was slow. However I did not expect it to be this dead 10 days into the month. I hope it picks up soon.

Slow here too......

Only one call so far this month...and it was cancelled. So as others I am working on marketing and research. Ready to do taxes as soon as I get my W-2 from former employer. So market, market, market...."if you build it, they will come"....or at least I hope so.

Well everyone.....it has been slow here in WI also. But there seems to be no shortage of calls for low ball fees. I just refuse to do them. 40-60 miles one way for $40-75. So what if the borrowers already have docs!!! I used a line I read a while back. I am sorry...my company just can not approve that:-) You are welcome to find someone else, please feel free to call back when you can meet my fee. I am also working on info for taxes...and marketing. Also I am getting married in Feb. So I am busy with that!

Yes, Congrats on your wedding and good luck with the plans. I had a blast planning my wedding! Can't wait to do it again. We are renewing our files in 4 years (will be 10 years of marriage by then). The time will fly for you once that big day happens. It's really hard to believe it's been 6 years for us as it seemed like just yesterday we were saying "I do".

I am in Illinois and it is very slow for me right now. Talked to a ss today that told me there are ALOT of notaries in my county. Hoping things will pick up, I have gotten 3 calls today and hope this will be a sign that business will go back to how it was for me in the Fall.

While I don't agree with Anon hiding behind a coward shield, I do have to admit that you have posted in several threads tonight and I'm at a complete loss as to what you are talking about in any of them. Short and sweet is nice, but not when your shorthand posts make absolutely no sense.

33 and I am finally getting it done!! I am excited about getting married. I am also enjoying the preparations....being this age I really don't have a lot of "hands" that want in the pot to help. So this has really been a joy to do what I want and finally "know" what I want and just do it! Everyone just says..."let me know if you need help. Just tell us what you want". So that is really nice. I just wouldn't feel right if all I did was sit back and watch the family prepare and plan. Just not me.

It's also very slow in Ohio. I only received 3 calls in 2 weeks and 1 cancelled, and the other didn't accept my fees they wanted $65 for e-docs.

I'ts 7:24, received a call for edocs 20 minutes ago. I know it's slow but it's also foggy, I don't do well in the fog. Turned it down and referred it to some one else but don't know if she was available or not.

exactly what are you doing with your down time? Are you sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring, or are you marketing and signing up with as many companies as you can? Are you contacting companies that you haven't heard from in some time to touch bases and tell them you are available? Are you studying and learning your own state's notary laws forward and backward? Are you already ready for tax season?

To be honest, I don't mind that it is slow because I do need to take care of taxes, printer/computer problems, take the class for my recommission and the reverse mortgage training.

It's a good time for catching up.
