I've heard it all now.....

This is a vent, I apologize ahead of time.....
Okay, I went away for the weekend and the title company that I do closings for had to find someone to take my place. They used a man from the Baltimore area. I had to go out to the borrowers home tonight to clean up the mess this gentleman made.
The borrowers said that this guy was a nightmare. He was almost 2 hours late and called the borrower and began shouting at her because he was lost. When he finally found them, he came in their home with a total attitude problem. He did not get a chance to make borrowers copies so he asked to use her little $50 home printer/copier machine. The copies he printed before he got there were totally out of order. He started to take the papers apart and lay them all over the table. He starts to tell them that he can't believe how far he had to drive and that he did not get paid enough to drive this far. They thought he was totally crazy. He did not fill out the RTC properly and left them with lenders copies instead of the borrowers copies, which by the way, were specified on the bottom of each document. It took him an hour to sort out the papers on their kitchen table. They were livid at how this guy was acting, he had no clue what he was doing.
My advice: if you think that you are not being paid a fair price for a closing or you are not happy about a signing:
#1: don't do the signing
#2 don't complain to the borrower about something that was your problem or the title companies problem.
#3 if you do this again, I just may post your name.
Come on, we are suppose to be professionals, let's act like one.
I had to vent, I apologize if I offended anyone.

I hear lots of stories of notaries who behave like this or worse. It is really too bad that persons who have no idea what they are doing are taking these assignments, they should know better.

This sounds like it could be the same guy I've been sent in behind. Both times it was to practically redo the package. And the attituded sounds the same too.

This would'nt happen to be the retired real estate agent would it???? If so I cleaned up two of his messes in Ocean Pines last week. He actually told both borrowers how much he hated closing loans and this job is far inferior to selling real estate. Also complained incessantly to both borrowers about distance etc..... This guy also from Baltimore area.

The guy I'm referring to is younger than retired age. Great! There's more than one. :(
