It is a combo of both. It is not California legal for a Jurat or an acknowledgement.

It does not contain the proper wording for either.

If you are ever unsure about what the recieving agency wants CALL THEM AND ASK. We are not allowed to decide which type of notorial act to perform. Don't let a couple of words on a doc that sound like it might be something throw you off. It there an actual notary block with state and venue? If not it may not even be something requiring notorization. Call and confirm what it is that they want.

Now my suspicious mind says that if you have been here long enough to know Cali's style then you should know the answer by now as this type of question gets asked here a few times each month. I got a bit of the Cali spirit today. He posted my exact feelings in a thread earlier today when I was really holding back.

Which thread was that Sarah? I was on an indignant roll this morning, spewed my opinion all over the place.

I'd actually give the original poster the benefit of the doubt on this one, as it is a bit confusing due to the wording, and he could have been asking so he knew which proper CA wording form to replace it with.

It's the ones that ask the most stupid and basic questions that they should know before they even pass their notary exam that make my head want to explode.

Did a pig just fly by?

Me and Kelly actually agree on something? I think I hear the rumbling hooves of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocolypse.

Cali, you used the word idiotic in the post. It was the first word I thought of along with many others. I held back and tried to be levelheaded in my post, but when I read yours I couldn't help but say aloud "You hit the nail on the head Cali".

To Original Anon Poster - email me personally

I'd be happy to help you with your question which is completely appropriate to ask - you are not the first to wonder about improper wording (and you're not the last).
