Looking for feedback..Check out my site!

Hello All,
I was up all night designing my site. Its not top of line BUT it's not bad for my first shot at "web design" hahaha. Send me some feedback if you have a moment!
Thank You!
Melissa

From signing services, yes. For title companies those rates are perfectly reasonable.

Hi, I think it looks great. The only change I would suggest is where you phone number is. The phone is blocking it a little. Maybe move it just below your email address. Other then that it looks terrific.

Have you thought of using a picture of the Statue of Liberty?? Lends itself to your name!

A little noisy...

I think it looks good, however; the size of the pictures really take away from the content of the website.

Absolutely fantastic for your first shot at web design, but I'd tone the pictures down a little, maybe smaller in size (mostly that massive phone).

Thank You everyone...

I appreciate all the e-mails and feedback! I guys Rock!
As for you "Anonymous" I don’t need "Luck" at getting my fees.
I have worked hard, I have invested a lot of time & revenue into my business and I am good at what I do. So if you want to scab about for $40.00 signings...Have at um'! That's all you. But, as for myself I know my worth and by the looks of it my clients do as well. So...
"Bitter, Party of ONE your table is ready."

Sincerely,
Melissa

Don't list prices.

Many TCs pay more than you state. Don't list prices. Negotiate with callers as they come along.

You will want more pay for Full Spectrum, Ameriquest, Centex, HFC, BFC, etc. Those loans are a super major pita.

Otherwise - a great site.

OC - I have not looked at her prices, but whatever she has put down is probably her bottom line, or nearly so.

If more people stopped accepting less than enough then our struggle would be a little easier on fees. Who cares what fees are the going rate? If you cannot profit (NOT break even...PROFIT.) on the going rate, it's time to close up shopt. It's more lucrative to do nothing than to go out and make less than $0 on low, low fees.

The day my fees are too high is the day I have to quit. They are my fees and that's what I feel is a good amount to charge.

One of our problems in the biz is the compulsive quick answer agreeing to work for $50.

You cannot be fearful you won't get called back. Look...you cannot run a business on a low fee structure. Raise your prices to a profitible amount. If you do not get called, at least you are not running up $20 in mileage, $2 worth of mascara, $4.99 on pantyhose, $5-$8 in printing, $2 worth of cell phone minutes, etc. etc. that is not recoverable with a profit. You will make maybe $8 when it's all over and you'll spend that on lunch. Can anyone run a business and pay the bills when they are clearing $8-15 per signing? I'd cut my losses and move on before I'd trying to use rose colored glasses to make it look like I really "earned" $50. It is not happening...the mascara and pantyhose cannot be counted but say you clear $25.00 per signing. Be realistic that $25 is what you are earning NOT $50.

I just do not get it why people don't see that if they undercharge they are digging a deeper hole ...it may be that some will have to drop out before others can get to a reasonable profit margin. I, like Charles, see a tide turning a bit. Our fees will get better the sooner the middlemen are no longer taking $75 - $200 off of the fee and leaving $50-75 for the notary. Do not take low fees.

I work a lot less and make more these days. It's much better.

I am not against signing services, I am just aware more than ever that a nice fee is there to pay the notary. Business is not at it's peak right now and there is very little to schedule here. The SS was developed to help supplement title's scheduling nightmares. That's over for the most part.

Get noticed so you can get the straight pay form the tc. Get $150 for one signing from the tc or take three for an SS to make the same...except your profit is lower because it's three jobs strung out.

O/c...this diatribe was not necessarily for you...it was to make new folks think.

Brenda: Agree with everything you said, I was just pointing

out how competitive it is here in Southern CA and that unless we can get in with TC (and that takes time), SS are able to find lots of notaries willing to to jobs at $50, unfortunate, but true.

Hey girl! Good site. But... You need to fix the space in prompt. See.....(Pr ompt return of documents). Others might think that this is poor "attention to detail" Smiley

Re: It's a good picture but

it's been resized disproportionately by the Web code, that's why it is distorted and fuzzy. Fixable by resizing putting the proper size in the code or reducing the graphic to the size given in the code.

Website looks great. I love the pictures. They go great with the information and the concept.

In your title "Owner, Certified signing agent" Make sure you capitalize "Signing Agent" also.

Just a thought.

Much success to you!
