NR Business Cards - am I the only one?

I've read all the posts below about Harry's business cards and I am one of the recipients of Notary Rotary's venture into a new market. I say to Harry and Traci - nice job! Thanks for letting me be a part of your promotion, and thanks for including me in your business cards. "Free" is a relative term, isn't it Harry? You have thought this out well, and good for you. Marketing is a fun and exciting thing.

What bothers me is all the "oh, my gosh the new cards are so great..." "Wow, thanks, Harry, I'll use them everyday". "Gee, they are awesome, thanks Harry!" in the thread below.

I think that Harry and Traci want us, the members of Notary Rotary, to tell them what is good, and what is not so good about the business cards.

The letter I received with my new cards was very clear - Notary Rotary is looking to us, the premier members and part of this forum to offer feedback. Good, bad, indifferent, the Shoemakers want feedback. As a former member of the self-employed community, however brief, I also value the truth and appreciate the request..."....any feedback you have time to offer would be greatly appreciated."

Here's what my letter said: "Our goals for this campaign were:

1) advertising
2) Refining the process we use to create business cards,
3) Identifying the printer we will be using in the future, and
4) Collecting feedback on the enclosed card design

Don't discount those requests. For all you who have received the cards, this isn't a personality contest. TELL Harry what you like, and don't like about his marketing venture. It is invaluable. He is counting on all of you. I know this because I was there. Any input as to the benefit of (their) marketing is invaluable.

With all that being said, my review of the cards was not as "glowing" as the thread below. I tried to break down the business cards into components...what worked for me, and what didn't work for me, and exactly what I thought of the visual presentation of the cards. I emailed Harry as such with my honest critique. I would change several things.

I hope that you all do the same. This gift of free business cards carries a price - the price is easy to pay - just tell Harry what you think. Make the business cards something you would want to create yourself, or would be proud to present to anyone.

Thanks for the opportunity to input - I enjoy so much and get great value from my membership in Notary Rotary, and hope that others feel the same.

You are not the only one!

I sent my comments to the email address as Harry requested. I knew that was part of the deal!

Whew. Thanks..... and thanks to Harry

I like the cards, just think they need some tweaking here and there for the best impact. I started the novel last night - it's going to be a goodie - but deep. I can't skim read as I normally do. That was a real treat to receive that (Free!)

A good pastime for a rainy day.

TitleGalCa, I too sent comments and feed back to the email in the letter on Saturday when the cards were received and reviewed.

I also posted my comments here in the general area as well as in the area for feedback. It was my choice not to post here what my feedback was, but the folks that matter (Harry or whoever reads the feedback) will know what I think about the cards.

I decided to post here on Not Rot letting all know how great the cards were so that when/if they are sold on this site, folks who were not so fortunate to receive them, will know what was thought of the cards.
