Not getting paid!
Watch out for Documents on the Run. It seems they are having financial problems. I have had to ask them for my paycheck 4 times now. What do you think is a reasonable amount of time to wait to get paid for our services?

Documents on the Run
I just read a previous posting that said the Docs on the Run only pays when they get paid. We had all better think twice before working for them again.

I posted about them before....
I emailed and called the owner, Suzanne Crehan daily and never got a response. She was never "in" the office according to her staff. I finally began faxing a demand letter. I did receive one check but more is outstanding.
Interestingly, I spoke with Mysti's replacement, John, about outstanding invoices. He covers for Suzanne very well. I mentioned that he must be feeling the wrath of notaries demanding payment. His response? "I'm an ex-marine, you can yell at me all you want." I assured him I would never yell at him, just wanted to speak with Suzanne. By the way, I never raised my voice once, so that tells me he must have been dealing with other "yelling" notaries.
I have given a deadline date of Feb 5th or I am going to collections. Anyone want to pool our invoices together for collection activity?

I forgot to mention...
Last week I got a call from John at Docs on the Run. He said "do you still do signings in your city?" I said, yes of course I do, I am very busy. He then said "well great news I have one for you today!" As if he was handing me a prize. He did not even realize he was calling the same person that had been phoning and faxing every day for payment. I calmly said, NO can do, I have outstanding invoices with your company and will be unable to complete that for you. He hung up very quickly. I pity the other notary in my city that accepted that assignment. They will never get paid for it.

Ray at http://www.cfi-corp.com See 85349 - Ray comes highly recommended. I think he messes up the knee first, then the face. After that he cuts off one big toe...then a thumb...well...you can see, he really tries to give the scum a chance.

Re: I forgot to mention...
Thanks for the info. I, too, spoke to John the "marine" and informed him that I have badmouthed Documents on the Run on the notary chat sites. He did not seem to know that we do this and I informed him that they will not get notaries to work for them now. I asked him how he would like to work for $50, 60 or $70 measley dollars and then wait for 75-90 days to get paid!

I started working with Documents on the Run in the beginning of last year. Also, I was in the Escrow industry for over a decade. Let me tell you that when an escrow closes, by law the escrow officer has to disburse (pay all invoices, etc.) within 24 hours. And ALL escrow officers comply with that for the Dept. of Corporations loves to fine escrow companies and fine BIG. That means the the SS receives the check within DAYS not weeks or months. On occasion (not often) there is a holdup on closing, but not usually 30 days and never 60. What is apparently happening with this company is that they have poor account handling and money may be an issue. I worked for them and finally got sick of not getting paid for up to 3 or 4 months on some invoices. It is the responsiblity of the SS to pay and they simply don't. I do lots of direct signings for my own clients and it only takes about a week to get paid. Also, the one other agency I love to work with pays FAST, whether or not they get paid. Usually within 1 to 2 weeks. And I've never been hung up on when asking the whereabouts of MY MONEY. I had checks that came in the mail from docs on the run for $150 when I had long outstanding invoices totalling around $800. This is not a new practice of theirs, but this is simply how they conduct business. If you continue to accept signings from them, be prepared to wait for a long time for your check. When they tell a notary that they are waiting to get paid, remember that they probably got paid within a week or two and simply use the money they get to pay the screaming notaries first. Good Luck to you
