As usual the ACLU goes overboard! Personal info should remain personal, but I also believe that we're in a situation where our very freedoms are being used against us. I have no great love for this President, but you'd be a fool if you didn't see we're fighting for our civilization and our right to exist as a nation! There are countries and groups of people who want to destroy us no matter what the cost! I don't believe this government is ploting to listen to my phone conversations about notary jobs I've done or if my sister is going to buy a new car! I do believe that they will be listening to students from troubled countries whose visas have expired and they can't find them and need to track them down or phone calls from radical mosques to those troubled countries and memebers of these mosques calling these troubled countries. If we're all dead we won't have to worry about the ACLU protecting our civil rights cause there won't be any country or ACLU to protect!

There is FAR TOO MUCH info on individuals floating around out there! Not only Gov't. but places like Transunion, Eqifax and other credit reporting agencies. Ever had something show up on your credit report that you had no idea what it was? Then have to try and get them to remove it? Even though, by law, they have to remove it, sometimes it shows back up later on. This can happen if someone else has a name similar to yours. Some places have far too much power!

Its a shame people don't see past the little infringements in their livestyle to realize that in this day and age, its a requirement, to keep the freedoms you have.
The ACLU is the worst thing to happen to this country. They fight to protect your freedoms, while at the same time preventing the country to protect itself.
People need to wake up and realize the world has changed...
This call would be a best case scenario call if John Kerry or Hillary Clinton got elected. At least you'd be able to make the call.

You've Nailed It, Shane!
The ACLU is one of the worst things to happen to our great country. They're replete with leftover communist ideals we defeated in the cold war & their current covert mission is to subvert our ability to protect ourselves as a nation. They cloak themselves in a few select words of the Constitution in order to justify their existence. Bob's correct in one regard when he says "the future is now". I for one am eternally grateful we NOW have someone like George W. Bush to see through the subterfuge of organizations like the ACLU & has the fortitude to do what needs to be done.

Oh, yeah, I'm desirous of a lifestyle whereby
I am given equal protection under the law. And the government may have given me that right up front, but it was the ACLU that got the good citizens of the government to give it to me.

Re: The ACLU was at one time a pretty decent organization
now it's just too far left! The ACLU is usually involved in noble pursuits like trying to get the word "God" taken off every federal building in the Nation. They'll have to use a pretty big chisel to get those words out. They're imbedded too deeply in this Nation! Heh, maybe they'll try to trash the Declaration of Independence next cause its got "GOD" in it!
