Question.....
When asked if we can print both letter and legal size packages, does this mean with a dual tray printer or the ability to do either size?
I always answer yes to this question, but now with all the posts on dual tray printers (which I know nothing about), it made me wonder if I was answering correctly.

A dual tray is nice to have but as long as you have the ability to print both legal and letter you should be fine. Dual Trays just make the print job go faster.

If you have the dual tray, then the printer automatically prints on the right size paper. (I am sure you knew this already) If you don't have the second tray, you can still do it either by changing the size of paper or having the Legal paper in the manual feed slot. Third option is to print everything on legal size paper, not really what you were asking.....
I added the second tray and can walk away while the docs print. A real time saver.
You can answer yes if you can do any of the above except the all legal option. The caller does not need to know how you get the job done, just that you can get it done.
Did this address your question?

Thank you! I haven't had a problem so far. I ask if they will accept everything on legal size paper. Most say "no problem", but if they want both, I accomodate. But I kind of like that idea of pushing the print button and walking away, so I may invest in one. Hope they are not too technologically sophisticated for me to figure out how to use. I don't have the kids around to show me how anymore.......but of course they are just a phone call away.....they appreciate being needed, I hope!haha

I have a HP Color laser 4500. It is an older printer but I got a GREAT deal on it.
I got the second tray (from E-bay for lass than $50) and all it took it install was to move the printer off the stand, place the new tray on the stand and put the printer on top of the new tray. All the connections were built to line up with no user input.
Very simple install, but it does take 2 people due to the weight of the printer.....
