Keith,
There are only two of you that really know what happened. As I pointed out in my original post, I still stand behind the fact that I think it was wrong to post your name -- regardless of the whats, whys and wherefores. I, myself, also get pretty frustrated at some SSs and/or TCs and although I might post about an incident or experience, I never mention individual names or company names.

Keith, first of all, my heart goes out to you. I can see this is a frustrating experience and I hope it gets resolved satisfactorily for both of you.

I have to say, this whole discussion has made me think twice on the issue of posting names, whether it be SS/TC or NSA's. I personally have posted the personal name of an SS owner after repeated attempts to receive payment. Sure, she gave a gazillion excuses and I gave her plenty of time, but what if I am truly the only NSA she ever did that with? In retrospect I wish I had not done so.

Personally, for me, if I notice I continually have problems with a particular SS etc THEN and only then will I post negative remarks. I can say I had a very bad signing last month and thought the SS totally dropped the ball. I am still waiting on payment when it was promised immediately, and emails are going unanswered. However, this particular person/SS has an outstanding reputation on these boards, so I will give her the time to take care of the matter and will not judge this person based on one bad experience. I certainly would not want a person to judge me on one and only one incident; we all do have bad days and unforeseen occurances.

Best wishes.

As we mentioned before, the reason behind stating a person's name was strictly to weed out the bad. There was no reason for the cancellation (2 hrs before the scheduled closing) except for the fact of too many pages to move forward with the closing. As we stated before, I advised him NOT to print out borrower's copies, (to make this easier for the notary) I would fedex them to the client. I offered more money as well. If in fact, if this was an emergency situation, we would completely respect that and move on. By doing such a stunt, put the borrower's and Mobile Doc's in a horrible situation.

I don't understand why you would cancel out so last minute when (from what I read) you were givin this assignment a week ago. A good SA would never cancel out so late. Unless of course there was an emergency. Was there? If there was I'm sure the SS would of understood that more than the reason you gave them.

Re: Red

You have only read one side of the story -- and that's what you are going with and have already based your decision never to use Keith and to remove him fromn your database if he is in it. With an attitude like yours, I think I have already probably, in the past, told you never to call me for assignments, but if I haven't, I'm doing so now.

It's things like this why I don't put any stock in NO NO lists.

Re: Red

lol Ok, here's the thing.....first of all I can assure you I have never used you as a SA before. I keep a very detailed record of all the SA's I use. I work with a couple different SS's and we inform each other when we come across a notary that should be put on the "no call list". But, we also inform each other when we find good notaries. So, if you are a good notary and you do an assignment for me or one of the other SS's I know, you're phone will be ringing off the hook. Oh, and one more thing, we pay very well and very quick.

I personally don't care if you sent me the check *before* the signing -- I DON'T wish to be associated with someone who is gullible enough to believe eveything he reads and makes such quick judgments based solely on one side of a story.

Carolyn,
I'm just curious, what is it that you think you are doing.
You have basically just written off the SS that you are arguing with, without knowing all sides of the story.

take off the all caps. Thanks, and good luck to you - this thing is not nice.

If I were you, and you have a lawyer, walk away from board, have a glass of wine with your significant other and relax.

If I were MobileDocs, I'd try and remember this is a board for Notary's; not for SS's that want to make accusations against individual notaries.

And if I were the Lawyer, I'd be telling both parties to shut off the computer, now.

I think if a notary takes a job, he should follow through, not because its the right thing to do, but because of the reputation hit you take if you leave not just a title co. out to dry. Even if there was a medical emergency, if i am a title co., who am i going to use in the future, the guy who never cancels, or the guy who had to cancel because he always gets heart attacks and has to cancel?

Reply by SarahBeth_CA on 1/6/06 12:01pm

Oh come on what are the odds that an SA is going to cancel due a heart attack. Not very high. It can happen but it would be a rarity. But then you add multiple heart attacks. Even less. Let me tell you what if I had to cancel due to a heart attack and afterwards find out that the tc took me off thier list I would say good ridance to that tc. So if you were a tc would you inform your employees to not call 911 if you were to drop on the floor with a heart attack because those loans need to be done.

Medical emergencies happen and if my daughter were hit by a car and I was on my way to or in the middle of signing it would be like this; see ya later I'm out of here. Then I would call the tc or ss on the way to the hospital so they could get someone else. Anyone that wouldn't understand that is someone I would cease to do business with. As a borrower I would totally understand if the SA had to leave due to that type of emergency.

I think this is the stupidest thing that I have ever read on this board. You really expect us to drive out and complete a signing when we, or a family member, is having a medical emergency?

I can just see it now: "Hi Mr. Smith, I'm here to do your signing. I'm sorry about this gaping wound in my head and the blood running down my face, I'll try not to let any of it drip on the documents. If my eyes start rolling back in my head just shout my name repeatedly and that should do the trick. Would you happen to have a baby's bib I can wear just in case I start foaming at the mouth?"

or

<loud wailing sobs> "My wife had a heart attack at home. They were performing CPR on her, but I had to leave to come to this signing. I have no idea if she is alive or dead. Sign here."

Idiotic.

If I remember correctly someone also said in that same book "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Do you relate? If I remember the knitters at the chopping block calling for the beheading were old hags and that the true story was that a friend gave his life so that his friend may live. Quite the wonderful story placed in the correct context but obviously lost on the likes of you.
