Resume ??
I have been asked to supply a resume (along with a few other items) when completing the paperwork for a TC that called me.
Can anyone provide me with a sample of what I should include? My resume includes other types of work......should I send that? I appreciate any help you can give me.

If someone is so kind to send a sample, I would like to see it also. My email: [e-mail address] - I am also having trouble figuring out how to charge ss vs tc. I have figured what my fees should be to cover my costs and all, but would like some input if possible. Not asking what to charge....just how to figure one vs the other. I want to be fair. TIA

Think of your resume as your profile. Include information that pertains to what you will be doing ie: what experience(s) you have. Have references ready incase they need them but put " References upon request.
Have to run. But really it's a hard copy of bulletin points of why someone would benefit from your services .

Re: You can email me...
I can send you a skeletal copy of what I use for TCs, etc. I only include info that's relevant to being a SA. You can use it as a pattern to design your own.

I always go by my gut when charging the ss's. If you go to high they will let you know. Just negotiate with them..

The resume has nothing to do with charing the SS's. I believe that you are on another thread. Sorry!

Re: Tanja Z
sorry it was on this thread but I hit reply to wrong person. as to resume, just take out the items that are not related to this field, It is a Job specific resume that you will be doing. Learn that at a class a took a few years back.. Hopes this helps you.

I prefer Beth's idea. Instead of a standard resume it's geared specifically for the SA. I really like the format.

Great answer San Diego, but these are more job resumes than what the others were talking about.

Re: Maybe some help .......Excellent...I was planning
to look for a list like this for a little article I was planning for my NL. I will certainly make use of it.
This kind of resume information will work. You just need to focus on signing agent related info...or...make all your past experience relate to your new career.
If it's daycare experience - you learned to focus and work even in chaos. If it's working in a doctor's office - you learned to deal with people on their worst days.
So, if you feel you need to list work history like this, make sure you put a key reason that the job prepared you for signing.
You are not going to fool anyone, but if you can give the impression that you know what is required of you, I think it helps.
On the other hand, if you have real estate, legal, or mortgage experience be sure and get that noticed on your resume. It got me in the door in a few places which required three years experience.

Brenda is right.
Take ANYTHING that you have done in the mortgage or title industry, list start and stop dates, and direct the reader's attention to your natural ability to do loan signings.
The format isn't as important to the overall impression. I apologise if I haven't been specific enough, but the point is to make/create a document that screams "I can do what you want me to do, and better than anyone else."
Highlight the points that favor loan signings, if that's what you are chasing. It's okay to have more than one resume, geared to whomever you want it geared to.
A resume is the MOST valuable marketing tool you posess. I keep mine updated on a regular basis and have three current ones. One for signings, one for title insurance work and one for California Subdivision work.
They are all important.

I appreciate all your info and suggestions. You can be sure that I will use these points today as I put this together. I want to get it faxed back to the TC tomorrow....so wish me luck. Thanks again for your input! Brenda

Focus, yes, of course, if a signing agent position is the quest demanding the resume you must point the efforts there.
As a former employer, and somebody who had to sometimes judge a candidate by a resume first, before going to the next stage of personal meeting, many positions call on other job qualities or attributes that should also be disclosed, though.
I can think of several reasons to chose somebody who has had a broad experience with real estate, legal matters, attention to paperwork details and coping with the public in general that would apply to making a great signing agent.
If these qualities were totally absent from the resume, one might not be so inclined to consider the applicant any further compared to another whose resume included small references to the those qualities.
The key is getting it all on one page from the stand point of the employer, especially if they have many to read! We're not talking about a rocket scientist position here. Edit, edit, edit!!!
