Side businesses in addition to being a SA

V. Ring has a directory of bankruptcy forms processors on her site. Many of the people listed are members of the NNA and are also SAs. Just wondering if any of you have gone into this business and if you find that the directory listing has gotten you any clients. Personally I'm a bit skeptical about the way the whole thing is set up. It looks like a win-win situation for her. She's the one making all the money with her books and seminars. Based on some of the information in the profiles, I don't think I would hire any of them to do work for me if I were an attorney. There are "Featured" processors (the ones who got fleeced the hardest), and the "Additional" processors. If you click on any state, it's mostly the same names again and again. If you take a look at any of their websites it looks like they all got the same information from her book. So if I'm a bankruptcy attorney in California I can contract the work out to one of these processors in any state, by email, and give them sensitive information about my client, such as my client's SSN and other financial information. And if they don't process the forms right the first time, I just keep faxing them back and forth until they do. I don't think so. I might consider it if the person were someone in my town and I knew them and the kind of work they can do. Or someone from an agency who had screened them. But I would never give this type of work to a stranger.

You can search her name or 50 State Notary and learn a lot. The general consensus agrees with your impression that her programs are win-win for her.

When I first started in this business, I thought Victoria Ring was all that. I thought her website was very informative, and I loved her weekly newsletter.

As I learned more, and found better websites, i.e. notary rotary... I discovered that Victoria Ring is nothing more than a marketing genius, who is really just out to make a buck (can't blame her, that's what everyones looking for). I also watched in horror as her weekly newsletter changed from something a notary could get valueable information from to a freakin infomercial for all her ridiculous products....

AND IF YOU ACT NOW, WE'LL THROUGH IN THIS LOVELY NOTARY BADGE... lol.

I unfortunately bought the Bankruptcy Forms Processing book. While I did find it informative, it doesn't give you enough information on how to actually process the forms. It gives you background info on contacting the attorney, dealing with the clients, etc.

If you really want to know how to process the form, then buy this cd, or buy this, or buy that, just as long as you buy, buy, buy.

So in all... leasson learned... -$60 for me.... +$60 for V. Ring.

The only thing I will continue to feed money to V. Ring for is my notary listing on her website.
My very best client found me on her site. The amount of steady income I get from just this one client has paid for my listing on her site 30 times--- and that's just for the month of January.

the title co's, lenders and ss all send documents via email with personal information....what is different if its an attorney?

I don't like VR or have any of her garbage and never will, just no interest is doing that. but there are people who have done it and then switched from this here in CA thta I know...and having far less expenses the they were as a nsa

** If you really want to know how to process the form, then buy this cd, or buy this, or buy that, just as long as you buy, buy, buy. **

That's what turned me off. She claims that her book tells you ALL that you need to know to get started. HOWEVER, if you want to know how to market your business you need to travel to her town to attend one of her seminars. Very convenient for her since she lives there. But don't worry. If you can't attend one of the seminars you can still get the information on CD for only $299.99. So what good is the book if you have to buy all of these additional products to really learn the business? The book alone is never enough. I think that's her marketing strategy. If she were selling cars the brakes would be optional equipment.

It's worse than that!

My first exposure to her was reading some free material she offered on her website, presumably as an enticement to buy the whole training manual. I was appalled at some of what she said - things I thought were not only poorly advised, but downright wrong! I would never trust any of her materials. (Any guesses why I'm posting this anonymously??)

No. I just don't want to get sued by V. Ring! V. Rivera probably wouldn't stoop to comment on this... :-) I've heard good things about her materials, though I haven't seen them myself.

I Had never heard of her...

I had been an SA for 4 years unti I actually even heard of her. Was having lunch/breakfast with Roger here in Columbus, and apparently she's from here?

Maybe because I started as an SA with years of experience as a LO & was already a notary, I came into this biz with more experience than the people that use her stuff?

After talking with some other SA's here in Ohio, I think the general consensus here is that she's a complete joke, her material isn't very helpful, and apparently very religious oriented?
Anyway...

She'll never get a dime from me.

Re: I Had never heard of her...

She is a joke - I bought her book to see if it was any good and frankly was very disappointed - went to her office while in Columbus - guess what - it is a mail box place that is not impressive and has her books laying out on the counter. What a waste. - she is promoting a number of seminars in the Columbus area so do pay to go - I am sure they are no better than the book.
