Spouse getting a certified copy of birth certificate...
Can I notorize the request for my spouse? He is only getting a copy of his birth cert. It will have no financial benefits. He just wants his birth cert.
Thanks!

Sorry, but nobody will be able to answer your question without knowing what state you are in and what the laws are in that state.
In my opinion it is not a good idea to notarize for family.

No...
You can not Notarize a Vital record. Your husband needs to request a copy from the office of vital records.

Re: No...
The application requires a notary so that is where my question came from. I know you can't notorize a certificate or anything like that itself, but the apllication actually has an area for a notary.

Re: No...
You could have a financial interest in it as to retire, you need a copy of your birth certificate, and if he were to use that copy, you would have a financial interest. You don't need a notarization if you go in person to the county hall of records whereever that would be for you. The clerk that issues the certified copy checks your ID. The notarization is if you do it by mail.

I'd Just Go to your Local Postal Annex and pay ten bucks
I don't see a financial interest but I shy away from notarizing anything for a spouse or relative to be on the safe-side. Good luck
