Thank you BrendaTX from a "newby"

I am a new NSA starting with great trepidation. I received my first signing call and declined it because I got scared. Pretty silly for a former business executive, ha? (Actually, I had a conflict, honestly).
I want to express my gratitude to BrendaTX and her message #45449 -- a must read for new NSAs like me. Though intimidating by the meer bulk of suggested reading and possible expenses (I ended up buying The Signing Registry Training Guide for $85 and loving it), it's worth every bit of information and every penny.

Having completed all the recommended steps, I received only one call in the past month (the one I declined). What am I doing wrong???

In a word.....MARKETING.

While I am not familiar with CA, I do know from reading this and other boards, that the NNA has inundated that state with NSA's. You probably have more competition than you can shake a stick at.

I would suggest sending your info to as many SS's as you can so that you can build up your experience and business.

Once you've got a bit of experience under your belt, then you can move on to the big boys -- TC's.

Thank you, Tina. Where can I find a list of SS's? Do they have to be in my state? How do I know which are good and which are bad?

Click on the blue tab "Signing Services" and....

you will find links to a lot of companies. Sign up with as many as you can. Some you can sign up with through their website and others will want you to email, mail, or fax your info to them. Welcome to this wacky world!

What county are you in? When you search here for your zip code where do you find your self in the list?

You need to be near the top to get business.... calls.

I too am new and ask every time I get a call for a signing where they found me... Not once (so far) was it due to having signed up with them..... Not saying this is the way it is, just my experance. I do have several SS and one TC that call me when there is something close to me.

Marketing is very important, but so is doing a professional job the first time

I usually find myself at the bottom, though I paid for Premier on GoMobile. How did you get your first signing?

I am in San Bernardino county near the Riverside county line.

I did a signing Thursday in Huntington Beach as the TC could not find someone there to do it. ( I found it odd she was having trouble but was not going to turn it down as it paid good)

Another good site to get referrals is 123Notary.com.
