I have had good experience with them. Pleasant to work with, meet my fees and pay within 30 days.

I've never been able to get them to offer more than $75 for email closings. They always say the usual, "I'll call back if I can't get someone else." I guess "someone else" is willing to work for that fee, b/c I never hear back from them!

I agree, even lower than most signing service fees

Quoted me $75 for edocs last month at the height of the rush. When I politely declined the scheduler told me "its only 35 miles from you."

I don't think these companies realize that the mileage they are getting off the search engines is "as the crow flies". And they don't take into consideration area, weather, road conditions etc.

Re: I agree, even lower than most signing service fees

Liz, the owner of the Notary Biz, reads this board. She's definitely well aware of all the factors that go into a signing. But she's just cheap and doesn't care about that. She'd rather take her chances with inexperienced notaries so she can take a bigger cut off of each signing.

They call and offer $40-60 , I tell them my fees and sometimes they take it most times they don't. But for all theat they aren to bad to work with, and always pay in 30 days.

Re: The Notary Biz - Sandy's reply

Are you a title producer? I thought Maryland title producers needed a lot more for a signing. Seems there would be a big jump from $40 to 60.

yes I am - I didn't say I accepted 40-60 that is what they offer.

My experience with them was horrible. Was supposed to be one loan, turned out to have a piggy back. They met my fee.....BUT......the hand holding was horrible. They must have called every 30 minutes.

"Did you recv the docs? Did you print the docs? Have you called the borrower? Oh, really, there are two loans in the docs contained in the 12 emails we sent you? The borrower feels rushed, why are you rushing the borrower?"

When I accepted the signing it was for a certain time that fit in with my schedule, I previously had 2 other signing scheduled for the same day; Then their docs weren't ready, yada yada yada yada which pushed their signing later and it conflicted with my previously agreed to signings) etc. Finally, I called the borrower before I left to assure him that I would not rush him, we would take whatever time he needed etc, we would make it work; when B went off on me. He asked the note rate/terms and I read it to him over the phone. He went ballistic! Totally different from what he expected. He said it was cancelled, do not bring the docs over and he hung up on me.

OK, so I spent literally hours this day on this signing. Printed 2 copies of 2 (very very huge) loan packages. I billed Notary Biz for my time (all of the phone calls really were intrusive and unnecessary) and the printing, and of course they never paid me 1 dime. I am still trying to collect.

That is my experience with Notary Biz. (very condensed by the way.)

Not only is there handholding, but they don't tell you when they call that the faxbacks are required at the fee they offered. I worked for them once. I agreed to the fee which I can't even remember what it was. I think it was a bit lower than I normally accept which at the time was ok until I get the confirmation which states the required faxbacks (not disclosed to me in the initial call). I went ahead and did the assignment but made a note on thier file in bold letters "FAXBACKS REQUIRED". I would consider working for them again if they agree to my fee. I will charge accordingly.

Now I wouldn't mind the handholding for the first 4 or so signings for an ss. But after that I have proven my worth and would let them know that it is not neccesary as I would get a hold of them if there were any issues.

We have to learn to be firm on our fees. We run our businesses, they do not. Oh how I hold my toungue when some ss says "our fee includes blah blah blah". I set my fee, they don't. If they don't want to meet it then "my fee is fair and reasonable. I am in business to make a profit just as your company is, I'm sure you understand that. I will be happy to accomodate you for my fee". If they don't then I just move on to the next one.

Wow, Amanda and SarahBeth! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. This has not happened to me with this company. I had to fax back the first time, if I remember correctly, but not since then. No hand holding either. They have met my fee so far and always paid within 30 days.

Could have been a one time deal...but

if it was and they were a stand up SS, wouldn't they at least offer to pay me for printing/shredding the docs when the signing went sour? Instead as soon as they heard the B wasnt going to sign it was like "hey we are out of here" and never another word. This reminds me...I need to call them again today and rattle their cage for payment. Smiley

Re: Could have been a one time deal...but

Liz used to work at 24/7 NNN. She is definitely a part of the reason why they have such a terrible reputation among signing agents. I'm sure your experience with her was NOT a one time deal and that this is standard operating procedure for them.

I am on hold with them as I type this...

I called regarding status of payment....they took all of my info, looked it up and said "can you hold please?"

OK, after a long hold, Travis comes back on the line and says, "we see that you cancelled this signing as you did not have time to do it"

ha ha ha ha ha ha

Well alrighty then! I explained the entire situation to Mr. Travis...........and Liz is not in of course but he got his supervisor to at least agree to pay me a printing fee. When Liz gets back next Monday she will cut the check.

Any bets on whether I ever see that check?

Amanda was paid.

She got paid 50.00 for a closing that was cancelled with her by the title company. Not that she would ever follow up here...but we did follow up with her.
The title company called us, and requested that we find a new notary for reasons that I will not post here.

I have NEVER offered a notary 40.00 for a closing, and never would.

We are doing over 1500 closings a month, and treat notaries as fairly as we can. We offer low prices to the title companies, because we have to. They call all the time, saying that someone is offering lower prices. It is not rocket science that everyone feels the impact of increased notaries, and increased signing companies. If you don't want to work with us, dont. It is just that simple.

"The title company called us, and requested that we find a new notary for reasons that I will not post here. "

Let me guess, she's completely lying in her story about the borrower cancelling because the terms of the loan were completely different than what she had been told. Uh huh.

If your cheapo $50 signings aren't enough of a reason for people to work for you, I think the attitude you're showing by basically calling your notaries liars on this board should do the trick.

A leopard never changes her spots, that's for sure.

How funny is this?

Liz called me yesterday. Just a very brief "were you paid by our company?' I replied yes, she hung up, that was it. I wondered about it for a nanosecond and then did not give it another thought.

Until I saw her post here.

Oh well, had to get a cheap shot in there somewhere didn't she?

I won't even reply to the Title company cancelling the job and requesting another notary. I never even spoke with a TC on that job. Only the staff at NBiz and the borrower.

People can certainly try this company out for themselves. Personally I know I would not have been paid had I not pursued it vigorously.

She really is a spiteful lying bitch, isn't she?

I'm glad you posted this. I wonder if she deliberately waits so long to post her responses in the hopes that people won't see it and dispute her?
