Vicki/MO
I need help and everyone on here seems to be very helpful!!! Thank you in advance. I am needing some suggestions or something.
I have been in the signing business for almost 2 years and I cannot seem to get regular business. I get 10 sigings or less one month and 15-20 the next month. I do this full-time and I am signed up with everyone that you can think of. I live 50 miles west of St. Louis, which is a small community, but this is crazy. Does anyone have any suggetions on how to get direct business, I can only seem to get business from out of state signing companies and they only want to pay $50 and sometimes a little more. Of course I take almost anything at this point. I recently purchased the Signing Agent book from Victoria Ring and I am patiently waiting for it to get here. Please help Thank You

1. Grab the phone book (the physical book, or online) 2. Look up Title Companies 3. Start mailing/faxing/calling etc.
Once you've exhausted every name and address that you can find, step four is to go back to step one and repeat.
Even if there is no work to be done.... there's always a ton of work to do!

Most all biz is from out of state. Get yourself a resume and mail it to all the locals with a biz card. Stop in on all the mortgage companies and TC's a week after and introduce yourself and leave cards.
I will make up a corny for each month, saying something like...(for January) "Oh the weather outside is frightful, but I can make your closing delightful" on mailing labels with my name and number...and attach it to little snowman with my card attached. Make up something for every month and stop by to ask how biz is. This doesn't cost much, go to the dollar store and get creative by looking at the items and associating.
If you need a hint for a resume e-mail me and I'll send you mine. Keep in mind that biz is a little slower than usual now and you need to get out and show your face and stay in their face!

Charm - Thank you for the sugg - I have been to local companies and all I hear is we close all of our loans here in the office, everyone around here has this hometown trust thing going on and that won't use anyone else. Would you mind if I looked at you resume? My email is [e-mail address] Thanks

What I did when I was ready to market myself to title companies was I had a picture of myself writing on a paper taken. Nothing fancy, just kind of a profile shot of my sitting at my desk with pen in hand. I had 4x6 sized copies made and sent them to title companies like postcards. I included all of the contact info on the other side. Matter of fact, I wish I still had the original. I have a few more I would like to "introduce myself too."

I recently moved to Michigan from Mt. Vernon. Yes it is very hard to do work because in St. Louis there are alot of title companies. And they each have there own Closing Agents. Keep on trying. Contact some of the Attorneys and offer to work for them do there closings. This might help get you know by the Title Companies.
