With the fires throughout the numerous states
I'm sitting here trying to rearrange my driving route for one of my signings today. While the Coal Creek fire that began last night and is now almost 3,000 acres, vicinity wise, is close, I'm not in danger. However, I have one signing that is more directly in line with the raging fire. I don't know if BOs will be evacuated or not. Personally if it were me, I'd probably cancel the signing because I'd have more things on my mind. The wind is gusting 50-80 mph.
I'll call BOs before the signing to see if they'e been evacuated, want to reschedule or do it in another location, which personally is going to be my choice.
People, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you smoke, don't throw the cigarette out the car window !!!

I had a closing up in Genessee last night and the wind was outrageous. I'm reading the news now on this new fire up in Jefferson? 10 acres to 2700 acres, very heartbreaking and it's still on going. Hopefully you're not near there.

I agree Carolyn, pick a location and keep yourself out of danger. I hear the winds out there are pretty strong. Stay safe and alert. And yes, quit throwing cig butts out the windowws! Is the cabin near any problematic area?

The cabin is at 10,000 feet and plenty of snow, so we don't have to worry about the mountain wild fires until summer. We aren't getting any snow in the foothills and metro areas, so the area is a big tenderbox just waiting to go up. This latest (and closest) big fire I spoke about, began at 6:00 last night and is already pushing 3,000 acres. So far not that many houses but a lot of horses, cattle, etc.

Be safe Carolyn. I hope the borrowers are able to postpone without troubles and can stay safe as well. My mom came down to TX to visit for the holidays and had problems with the air here because of fires North of where I live. The fires are miles and miles away, but the air comes right through town and leaves soot on our cars. I just wish people would stop smoking. I lost an Aunt a couple years back because of cancer from smoking. Before she died, 1/5 of her face was removed, she wasn't able to eat or speak for two years. She was fed through a tube directly to her tummy. It was horrible!

Yes stay safe Carolyn. Hopefully the fires will start to dwindle. As far as smoking I have to admit I do smoke but don't throw them out the window. I have an ashtray for that. I am in the process of trying to quit though as my dad was diagnosed with emphysema and COPD (though I think you can't have one with out the other) It has scared me so first I need to drop the extra pounds I will inevitably gain back when I start to quit again. I do not want to quit smoking just to look like a whale. LOL

Good luck on quitting. I know it's hard, but you can do it!!!!
