Z-Grip ball point pens on sale at Staples

I admit it, I am a bit of a pen snob. I bring along my own pens and like the borrowers to use something decent but I tend to lose them, too. I saw this Z-Grip brand on sale [4 pkgs of 7 pens ea. = 28 pens for $10.00]. Never used 'em before but I snapped up 4 pkgs figuring I could return them if unsatisfied.

I think they're pretty darn good so I will probably pick up another lot or 2 and be set for awhile!

P.S. -- Is anyone else noticing how expensive printer paper is becoming? I think't it's up 30% in the last couple of months!!

Speaking of sales on office supplies

Sams Club has a box of legal paper for $24.95, 5000 sheets.

Re: Speaking of sales on office supplies

I used to get mine at Sams, they beat the prices from Office Max and Office Depot, but with all three, the quality isn't the greatest. Only 84 brightness. I switched to Corporate Express. One case for $36. 92 brightness. The difference is night and day. They also deliver n/c.

Re: Speaking of sales on office supplies

Staples has also upped the brightness on their paper (from 84 to 92), and they have free delivery as well.

And since I have a Gold Business Rewards card, I get quite a bit of money back from them every quarter. It's usually enough to get a case of legal for a few bucks.

I buy the cheap Paper-mate Stick Pens. They come 3 or 4 dozen to a box, and end up costing pennies.

I used to buy nice pens to use at signings, but one or more of the following always happens and then I don't want the pen back:

1. baby/child puts in mouth, ears, nose
2. adult sucks on pen
3. adult chews on pen
4. adult uses clip on pen cover to dig in ears
5. adult uses pen as a scratcher (back, neck, underarm, etc)
6. adult has cold or other infections disease
7. adult has visibly dirty hands

It's pretty painless to part with a pen that cost pennies. I used to hate to have to leave pens that cost more.

$10 for 28 pens? You're a braver man than me. I just buy the cheapie Bic or Staples brand ballpoints, 12 for about a buck, then I don't have to worry about whether I leave em behind or lose em or anything.

But for my own use, I prefer decent rollerball pens.

I don't give them out at the closings, but even at home they seem to spread aroind the house. There is something about the cheapie pens they always seem to skip and run out and it bogs me down at the signing.

I am a premium notary and I don't skimp on using good pens and good paper. It makes my job easier.

I take a shower and shave every day, too, and that costs money!! :-)

They work just fine for me. And in 3 years of notary work I've only had one in my possession long enough for it to run out of ink.

What, the moist towelettes they give out for free at El Pollo Loco aren't good enough for all your hygiene needs? What a snob!

My son gets allergy shots once a week, so I pick up a pen that the drug companies leave there. I now have a good supply of black pens. I only have to buy blue...good pens for me, and cheaper ones for the borrowers to use.
