$40 New Low!!
Just had to share what offers I received in December:
$40 for same day signing!!! When I laughed, SS offered an additional $20 because he forgot to mention they were edocs!!! So, I was looking at a whopping $60 signing - oh yes, to be completed in less than 3 hours!!
What kills me, is that I received about 4 of these types of calls last month. I hope it's not an epidemic!
PS: Question for you all: How "unprofessional" would it be of me to tell these pirates what I think of them and their tactics? They have no qualms about arguing with me regarding $$ or distance, etc. Most of them are absolutely rude in response to my refusals. I'm just chomping at the bit to let one of them have it!

I simply tell them that they are not even close to my base rate but thank you for calling. Stay professional and polite. The cream always rises to the top.

Always remain professional, I politely decline and invite them to call back if/when they can meet my fee. (that means if they don't find a bottom feeder to do it instead)

I always give a little chuckle and say, No, thank you, I'll pass. No sense in getting indignant and raising my blood pressure. Not worth it. A better offer ALWAYS comes along.

When they offer you $40, tell them you'll see if you can get that approved and call them back.

You're all absolutely right - thanks for the encouragement! I don't want to lower myself, but sometimes it's very tempting!!!
Just last night I politely refused an offer. I even went as far as recommending someone in the county of the closing - stating it would be cheaper for him, etc.
Instead of thanking me and hanging up, he starts arguing with me about where I live. He tells me that he's looking at a map, and I am not as far away (1.5 hours one way) as I said, etc. I cut him off with a polite "I'm not interested - good luck to you."
He called my cell phone 6 times after that all within 1/2 hour. I answered 3 times only to have an open line at the other end...

OMG, was his name Bill? The same thing happened to me last night! I told him I wouldn't travel an hour and a half to 2 hours for $50 and he kept insisting..."But, it's only 14 miles away from you!" (At least he didn't call back again!)

Re: Why waste your time ??

I personally never let it go that far. I tell them my bottom line price and if they don't accept it right away, I don't waste my time or cell minutes with them. I never let them get around to getting rude or arguing with me.

I would I have told companies that I will not work for that and besides that I make no less than $125.00 for over 25 miles from home gas is to expensive and going up not to mention that you have wear and tear and insurance on your vehicle, some of these companies do make more than that and once I took what the company did make that was a whole 260.00 for 2 trips 1 1/2 hours one way
