I just charged an extra $50 for an extra 132 pages. But, I guess everything is relative. They did not blink.

Jersey_Boy...
Just curious. Is that breakdown something you mention to the SS/TC when they say it's edocs? Sometimes the SS has no idea how many pages it will be. What if the SS says something like "It's just a HELOC, I don't know how many pages it will be". Do you go back and ask them to change their confirmation once you print the docs and the page count is higher?
A lot of questions but after so many "small packages" turning into bigger ones I was thinking about creating a breakdown. I just was not sure how to work that in to the conversation if the SS has no idea how big the package is.

Re: Jersey_Boy...
I ask how big the pkg is, they know...and ALWAYS underestimate. I just went thru a ream and a half of paper on 2 diff loans wih copies of same...I'm thinking $25. is a bit low for over 150+ pages times 2.

Re: Jersey_Boy...
I just charge $25 no matter what. What I "lose" on large packages, I make up for on little 40 page HELOC's.
The difference between the cost of supplies on an 80 page loan vs a 120 page loan is only about a dollar, plus an extra 5 or 10 minutes printing time and I don't think that's worth the effort of arguing for a higher fee.

I charge $25.00 for up 150 pages and then I charge a $10.00 copy fee after that or for the second one.

Re: Jersey_Boy...
I've done some hardcore marketing and have a handfull of TCs and attorneys that I work for on a regular basis. I have an agreement signed with them (that I made) stating what my fees are. I don't even have to quote prices anymore. They call and give the details of the signing, I accept, they send an email with bo info and details. I do the signing and send in an invoice. They know what the price is for each service, and I bill accordingly.
When an SS calls, I will quote a my price and await the confirmation. Once I have the package and know exactly what's involved, I will call back and tell them the new fee (if there is one)... and request a new confirmation. Best parts is, once you have the docs in your mailbox, they very rarely will cancel the appointment to find another notary.
