drum replacment
I recently replaced the drum on my backup printer - A minolta 1250W. When the drum went on the first machine, I bought a second. So, when the drum on the second went, I went to e-bay and found a drum (nothing else - no a drum unit). Took 10 minutes to replace. Works great. Cost was $42 including shipping. Heck of a lot cheaper than the $100 most place want for the drum unit.
So, if you or a friend is even slightly mechanically inclined, you can save a lot of $$ with just a drum purchase.

Hey Art, have you replaced your drum on the brother 5140, I was told that you can just reset the drum count and keeps on printing fine. Let me know, mine its getting to the 20K pages.
