notary vs certified signing agent

hi, can someone please tell me in the state California if you are a notary can you notarize loan documents...or do you have to take another test and become a certified signing agent to notarize loan documents?

great, thank you....i thought so, and i'm fimilar with the docs...but i just keep seeing people word things a little different so i was just a little curious...
