unprofessional , nonpaying title companies

Has any one had any experience with Community Settlement Company,Inc in McClean .VA. Did they get paid the agreed upon fee? They asked me to do a signing. It was email docs. We agreed on a fee of $125 for a email docs, $75 for a 2nd. I show up at the appointment, there are no borrowers. They call back the next day apologizing and I say I will only charge them $50 for the no show . I informed them I had turned down work for to be prompt for this signing. The signing takes place thte next day. I come with the docs, the signing is colmplete.I get a call asking where are the trust docs and the 2nd were. I reply that the borrowers signed every doc that I received thru email.I was interrogated and yelled at. I replied that I never received 2nd mortgage docs. When I called to ask where the docs were there was no after hours number to reach them.Title company keeps repeating that they're going to get to the bottom of this. The next day I all to see if they had gotten to the bottom. They admit the docs were never sent , I ask when should I receive ,my fee and reminf themwe agreed on $125 for email docs. They said you only did 2nd and you'llget $75. I said this is not what we agreed on. I also remided them of the $50 no show. I told them I should not have to suffer financially for the incompetence of their office. I was rushed off the phone and told I would receive a call later. Am I being unreasonable here? FEEDBACK, PLEASE!

Re: If you knew the signing was a first and second

and you didn't have TWO sets of loans, why did you go to the signing without contacting the company first and asking where the other one was? -- or call them while at the table to advise there was only one loan? -- or return the docs without telling them there was only one loan? ????

This kind of happened to me...

Except no one told me there was a 2nd. Edocs were late and I literally ran out the door with the 1st. When I get to the brw. He said, "This is a 1st and 2nd right?" I immediately call tc. 2nd never got sent anyway as it wasn't ready. I bring out the 2nd the next day, get a full fee for the 2nd closing.

Anyway, moral of the story is that I wouldn't have left the house without the 2nd had I known there was one. 2nd moral is that I didn't go back out to have the 2nd signed until I received another confirmation with my full fee on it.

Re: This kind of happened to me...

This happened to me too, only I was able to see there was a second loan when printing edocs. I called the SS, told them my 2nd set price, they emailed me a confirmation within a few minutes. It's always a plus when you get to view docs before going to the borrower, AND can get in touch with the SS.

In this and other posts, you are giving the indication that you are not a SA but instead a SS. If so, what is the name of the company?

Re: And what is the name of your company Naoni Green?

My name is Noni Green, and I am a Notary Public. Just because I defend one or the other does not mean I take sides. I am just sick of seeing so many rag on signing companies in general when ther are so many good ones out thee that never receive credit for the good woirk they do. I remembers when someone talked about a new notary website came up, Notary Beware" and there were a bunch of people were p'd off about it, the shoe being on the other foot. Those people are hypocrites and should get out of the business.
