Avoid Countrywide Robert J. Monico - won't pay!
Took a signing for Countrywide - yeah you think great, right from the source, I will definitely get paid - wrong. I have emailed, faxed, emailed faxed, yada, yada, yada. I finally got him to email me back, very nice, sorry we've moved, apologize, resend invoice, you know the drill. Promise to get this taken care of 07/17- still no money. I guess some people do think we work for free. I can't, too much expense involved.
This is the second time Countrywide has burned me when contacted directly, guess I should have learned my lesson the first time. But this time I'm going to take all the steps - Notify the Atty. General of California - notify the California Secretary of State to look into the matter of whether the Lender should maintain their license - Register the details with the BBB - and of course the most important - Tell You'll. Hope this will be a head's up for anyone who gets the call.

Re: What office?
Was 450 American ST. Simi Valley, CA 93065
But when he finally did reply to one of my many attempts to get info on payment he said they had moved to:
5805 South Sepulveda Blvd. Van Nuys, CA 91411

Re: What office?
I have never had an issue getting paid direct from Countrywide, no matter what office. Sorry to hear about your troubles. However here is the address to use:
5805 Sepulveda Blvd Suite #400 Van Nuys, Ca 91411 818-374-1479
You need to add the Suite # or the post office will probably return it.
Have you written a couple of demand for payment letters with a drop dead date to take them to small claims or turn it over to a collection agency? The letters need to be sent so you get a signature upon delivery and a return receipt. When someone signs their name to a collection letter, it tends to get noticed, plus you will need the paper trail. Emails, phone calls and faxes will not hold up in court or collection as they can say they did not get it even though you have proof on your end that it was sent. You will probably get paid then as the company will not want to be bothered with a collection agency. I have had payment problems with other lenders and this approach has worked each time.
The Attorney General's office will tell you that it is a civil matter and you need to persue it as such. You will get a letter explaining with the state's population at nearly 40 million, they need to concentrate on real crime .. been there done that. The SOS will probably not reply.

Re: What office?
Consider going through the main office of C'wide. I'll bet they will get it takencare of. I am sure they don't want to be known as non-payers.

I have always been paid by Countrywide but sometimes it took a long time. The checks were usually drawn an the Simi Valley office even if another office requested the service and sent me the paperwork.

Did work for same office & same guy
and was paid the agreed fee within 21 days, which looking at most companies seems to be quite fair. Sometimes things do get mishandled, here's hoping that it works out soon.
