E-Fax

I did my search and got great info on e-fax companies. Now, I'm wondering how often you actually use an e-fax? I get all of my jobs via email but am being asked more and more for an e-fax number. So, in your opinion, do you use the efax often enough to pay for it?

I do. It's great to get faxes on the road.

I don't have to have a laser fax machine. I use an inexpensive ink jet fax to send (in fact, the printer on it is broken) and the e-fax company to recieve. You will use it all the time, expecially on the road and from anyone's computer if necessary.

I do the same as Mr. Strickler and only pay like $8.95 a month
for the e-fax service from Costco.

I have E-Fax Plus, which enables you to receive and/or send unlimited faxes. This service is $12.95 per month direct from efax.com

I use my e-fax to receive all incoming faxes. It's much more convenient than my laser fax machine because I don't need to go home to retrieve a fax, I can just download and print on the road. And if you save all the files you'll have a record of all the faxes you have received and can reprint if you need to. It's well worth the $9.95/month cost.

Re: K7 fax is Free

I have used K7 fax for about a year and I haven't paid a cent.

I receive all incoming faxes via K7, which then go into my email, and I have a choice of whether or not I want to print them out. I use an old fax machine to send faxes out and have free long distance on my home phone number account with plenty of minutes to spare.

If you don't get a fax in 30 days the K7 fax number is taken away from you, but of course I don't have that problem since I get many orders via fax.

The fax numbers are a Seattle area code. I was able to choose my own number so the last four digits of my fax number are the same as the last 4 digits of my home number.

I love my efax account - its a great value to be able to get your faxes from anywhere you can get web access. An additional way to use your efax account is as a quick and easy scanner so any document you have you can quickly email directly to anyone as a pdf in about a minute or two!

This is great for a couple of companies I fax stuff to often - but whose fax machine number is always busy.

1) set your "Fax File Format" to pdf. The option is on the "Fax Options" tab of the preferences page of youe efax.com account.

2) Fax the document to your own efax # and receive it in your email as a pdf file in about a minute.

3) Save the pdf to your desktop with a filename that makes sense and just email it directly to whoever is waiting for the document.

I do have a regular scanner - but this process is a lot quicker the the flatbed scanner I have.

Sorry to be long winded - it just occured to me this tip might help some others as well.
