For those of you with mobile offices

How do you keep your laptops, printers, copiers, etc from getting too hot in the summer when they are in your vehicle? How do you have things set up, back seat or trunk?

In the case on the floor of the back seat out of any direct sun. Also I place window shades in my car so it does not get to warm inside the car.

I have to run the A/C before turning on my printer. A few times this summer my inverter alarm has gone off due to the high tempature inside the vehicle. My inverter is mounted on the back of the passengers seat and my copier and printer sit side by side on the back deck. I have a small SUV.

My suggestion is to take your printers in your house when not out with the air conditioner on. My scanner/printer got cooked and wouldn't work anymore after being in the hot car for a couple of weeks. I won't do that again. it was working fine before I left it in the hot car.

I don't know, but I just ordered one for my vehicle.
It's supposed to be 2-8 weeks for delivery, and once I recieve it and test it, I'll be
sure to let everyone know.
I was hoping with your headline that you'd clue me in Smile

Oops, I should have titled it 'Auto Cool?' I am in the same boat as the others here- the TV ad looks really great but I feel like I need someones personal endorsement before I buy.

I looked at the website and watched the video. I wonder how the fan works with the window closed.

Re: Auto CooL! - I had one.

They work. Not as good as TV says, but they work.

Car must have a backseat window. Won't work with 2-door cars, so I don't use now.

Rubber inserts go on sides of unit to create window seal. Unit is solar powered. Uses a fan to suck car air outside.

Works best with 2 units (both rear windows) and silver windshield mats that reflect light away from car. Use in front AND back windows.

Doesn't work good enough to leave pet in car.

Thank goodness I'm not the only sucker to fall for TV ads,

LOL
But I have taken a chance and got some great products.
Ok, whoever receives it first report back with results!
I am looking forward to them: I hate to ruin good electronic equipment
in this HOT HUMID FL weather.

Just looked at the site myself and it is advertising for 14.99 + s/h and you get a free cup caddy...yippee freebies are always great!

Re: For those of you with mobile offices- - - Auto CooL!

But the clencher is this...you must pay about another $5 for s/h of the cup caddy...that's what runs it up to $20. But I spent it anyway.....I'm a sucker for a "deal"
